Movies you are NOT ashamed to admit you like.

Many that I like have already been mentioned, but I’ll go with one that hasn’t, and that I’ll watch when it is aired, though I don’t actually own it, Somewhere in Time.

Ladyhawke --I’ve watched this so much, I’ve memorized it.

Enemy Mine --you get no arguments from me!

Hmm… maybe something about not taking itself seriously enough for many critics to actually be willing to admit to enjoying it?

**LadyHawke ** Just an all around excellent film. Brooding hero that is a wolf by night. Beautiful Vixen Heroine who is a hawk by day. Smart ass Ferris Bueller who is the exposition. And the surly, cranky monk, who was fantastic. What’s not to love?

**Austin Powers ** : All of them. Mike Myers is a genius. (Except for Big Fat Bastard, he creeps me out big time.)

**Silverado ** Great western with a major droolable cast for wimmen.

**Ferris Buellar’s Day Off **

**10 Things I Hate About You ** I adore this film for so many reasons. The sisters. The neurotic dad. The hunky bad boy. The nerdy guys. It’s perfect, really.

Clueless Brilliant.

**Three Kings ** Loved this film. Never understood why it tanked.

**Glengarry GlenRoss ** Fuck.

Best in Show

Big Lebowski

**Tommy Boy ** " Listen up you little spazoids! I know who you are and I know where you live…" Best screaming at a child scene ever.

I liked Waterworld goddamit.
I liked Willow goddamit.
I liked Krull goddammit.
I liked David Lynch’s Dune goddamit.

(glares at naysayers)

Bastards.

I love Silverado! One of the best Westerns of all time, probably. And I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like Glengarry Glen Ross or the Christopher Guest movies like Best In Show. I’m not a fan of Spade or Farley, but I’ll always crack up for the “Fat man in a little coat!” scene in Tommy Boy.

Ohh, I love that movie!!
I love the scratching on the buddhist prayer wheel asking for the knife- I do that bit all the time, no one gets it, dammit!!

Bring it On is on constant rotation at our home along with Family Guy these last 4 months.

But my total guilty pleasure, which I am ashamed to admit is …

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band with Peter Frampton and The Bee Gees.

Encino Man
Real Genius
Rock & Roll High School Forever
Drop Dead Fred

Most of mine have already been mentioned, so I’ll just go with this one:

“Rock and Rule”. Hopefully someday this will come out on DVD.

Sorry, that was supposed to be “Like” not “Lik” in the title.

I like Lynch’s Dune, too.

And since I saw it in highschool and loved loved LOVED the soundtrack and didn’t know it was supposed to be a bad movie, I also have a soft spot for Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

How about Scooby Doo?

I love that movie! Yeah, it’s sappy, but in a good way.

If you would like to fire one in anger checkout wwiionline.com

Oh, granted lissener: but just mentioning that you’ve seen, much less own, a movie with Liza Minelli to a bunch of guys at the worksite with wrenches in their pockets could fall into the category of “movies that you aren’t supposed to admit to liking (at least in certain circles)”. And just try to explain how good a musical about an East German botched transsexual is to a group like that…

Oddly enough, BlinkingDuck, I’ve just finished re-painting our Bofors up for the spring season…but they won’t let us fire it (besides, the barrel is full of cement!)

I knew I loved you for a reason. Krull was one of the best D&D-type movies to have come out in the 80s (in sharp contrast, see ‘Dungeonmaster’ <shudder>).

“Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.”

My list includes the following:
The Cutting Edge: What can I say, I just like DB Sweeney, and Moira Kelly is just so damn cute.
Charlie’s Angels: This movie was tons better than its reputation. Completely tongue-in-cheek.
Varsity Blues: I love this movie. “Mox, Tweeter stole my clothes and it’s cold. Will you come warm me up?”
Broken Arrow: Nobody seemed to like this except me. It’s a horrible movie, I’ll admit, but I enjoyed watching Howie Long try to act. Plus, I’m a big fan of Christian Slater from way back.

Ooooooo!!! Christian Slater!! Cant think of him withouth thinking of Heathers. He made dark and psychotic fun.
And while we’re on the subject of dark and psychotic, am I the only person who has ever seen The Last Supper?

“I have no response to that.”

Okay, now mine:

Just One of the Guys
Joe Dirt
Real Genius
About Last Night - which has one of the worst lines in cinema history. Demi (walking over to turn on the light) ::click:: “Good, because I think we’ve been in the dark long enough.” Ugh. It’s so bad, it’s good, baby!
Once Bitten

and anything on Lifetime Movie Network involving stalking, high school murders, child custody, and wife beating.

Hey, dalej42, I tried Xanadu again recently, but it didn’t hold up for me. For the 10 minutes that I made it through the movie, I was mostly, “What the…?”

Ivylass, I liked Titanic, too. I just don’t go around admitting it. I especially omit the fact that I cry at the end every time. :o
