Totally.
Also, any of the Planet of the Apes movies, Time Machine, Zardoz, Around the World in 80 Days, etc., and cheesy Bing Crosby or 60s hairy-chest-guy movies. Also 80s SNL star comedies like the Great Outdoors.

Umbrellas of Cherbourg
Jackie Brown
Chungking Express
Muriell’s Wedding
Solaris (Russian version)
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Bend it Like Beckham
How often do you stumble across that while channel surfing?
This doesn’t happen in my house any more as we have gone 100% streaming and I miss getting caught up in a movie I’ve already seen 100 times.
Office Space
Lord of Rings- any of the trilogy.
Godfather I or II or combination
Star Wars long ago when they used to show it on tv Fuck you, George Lucas.
Shawshank Redemption
Lonesome Dove
In Bruges
Almost any John Hughes movie
Ditto, In Bruges. Another one of my can’t skip past favourites.
Kill Bill I & II
Armageddon
Shawshank Redemption
Any Star Wars movie
Jaws
Weird Science
Grindhouse
The Hateful 8
Whiplash
The Blues Brothers
A Few Good Men
Casablanca
The Nun’s Story
The Sound of Music
Lots, as others have said, but sometimes just for a single aspect, scene, etc.
Point Break (1991 version). I have to marvel at how badly a few of the lines are delivered, and there are a few plot holes that are better left unconsidered, but, other than that, very cool images often paired with equally cool soundtrack.
Fist of Fury. The scene where the odd-looking Sikh guard won’t let Bruce Lee enter the park. Smash racism now.
True Grit (1969 version). Vibrant soundtrack, although I think I’ve heard parts of it in another film.
Cast Away. “And a rock feels no pain…”
Runaway Train. Great acting from Jon Voight and others, but Eric Roberts’ performance still impresses me greatly. Contrasting with the sordidness of the prison and the “ruthlessness” of tons of steel rolling uncontrollably through Alaska, his character seems ingenuous and vulnerable (“I thawt we wuz friends!” or even just “Shoes!”), not unlike the Jacob character (Billy Bob Thornton) in “A Simple Plan”.
That damn *The Great Escape. * Guaranteed to ruin any day of scheduled work.
A few others, too.
The Blues Brothers
Ferries Bueller’s Day Off
The Sound of Music
Casablanca
If I stumble across any episode of Band of Brothers I’m stuck all day watching the rest of them. Even though I’ve got the discs sitting not five feet away.
Also, Secondhand Lions.
I think I’ve seen it three times on cable (Russian Solaris). Until the Americans covered it, it was the only version.
Yep, me too.
Apollo 13
A Few Good Men
Shawshank
Unfaithful
(ignoring titles I don’t actually encounter often while channel surfing)
The Godfather
Goodfellas
Captain Phillips
The Breakfast Club
Saving Private Ryan
mmm
Jaws. I’ve seen it more times than I can count, but I still just sit and watch, transfixed.
Moby Dick.
I’ll remove Unfaithful and add Saving Private Ryan to my list. Thanks, mmm.
Galaxy Quest
A Few Good Men
Marvel’s the Avengers
The John Wayne Calvary westerns.
Jimmy Stewart’s Westerns
