What movies will you always watch?

There are some movies that I can only watch once. There are some that I can watch several times. There are even some that I can watch many, many times. But there are some movies that I could watch a million times and never tire of. I won’t buy them on DVD, because that would somehow ruin them for me. But if I’m lucky enough to catch one on TV, I will move heaven and earth to see it. Here is my list:

Fargo
Quick Change
West Side Story
Top Secret!
Office Space
Best in Show
It Could Happen to You
Rounders
Good Will Hunting

What’s on your list?

I don’t know why, but whenever I am channel-surfing, and I come across Zulu, I nearly always stop and watch.

And since I posted, I now have the song “Men of Harloch” running through my head. And I can’t even remember the words!

[The first] Jurassic Park
The Bride of Frankenstein
Beetlejuice
Marry Poppins

Casa Blanca
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
Ocean’s 11
Ghost & Mrs. Muir
My Man Godfrey
Secretary
Big Hand for the Little Lady
If those are on, I don’t care what time, I’m there. Also reruns of The Night Stalker. Loved that show.

Shawshank Redemption
Office Space
Wonder Boys
Fear and Loathing in LV

I’ve been known to watch Good Will Hunting and As Good As It Gets when they are on TV, even though I have both DVD’s sitting less than 10 feet away.

The African Queen
The Russians are Coming, the Russians are Coming
Smokey and the Bandit

Bloodsport
Goodfellas
Casino
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Swimming With Sharks
The Untouchables
New Jack City
Jungle Fever
A Clockwork Orange
Bottle Rocket
True Romance

Tremors
Speed
South Park: the Movie
The John Hughes teen films from the 80’s
Overboard (it’s so comfortingly maudlin)
Hmm, that’s all I can think of for now. Wow, I have really banal taste in movies…

D’oh! I can’t believe I forgot Shawshank.

Also, Trading Places and Can’t Buy Me Love. Even though they both suck, I’ll still watch them.

I don’t think that indicates banal taste. They’re the comfort food of movies. Anything goes when it comes to comfort food.

Godfather I and II
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Big Trouble in Little China
Shawshank Redemption

The Princess Bride
Support Your Local Sheriff
Miracle On 34th St.
Ghostbusters
Scrooged

Movies already mentioned…

The Untouchables
Quick Change (one of the most underrated movies of all time)
Overboard (possibly not ALWAYS, but it is very rewatchable)

and I’ll add

The Usual Suspects

That reminds me – Groundhog Day. It trumps all the rest.

Blade Runner
Shawshank Redemption
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
A Christmas Story
Ed Wood

“In Harm’s Way” is on AMC right now. John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, and Patricia O’Neil. Great movie.

I will stop and watch at least some of *Outlaw Josie Wales * everytime I find it while surfing.

I reckon so

Not a movie but I watch *Band of Brothers * whenever its on.

Ghostbusters
Star Wars
(the original, not the “Special” edition)
The Princess Bride
Brain Donors

Anything by Pixar
