The ones you’ve seen too many times already, but even though you should have been in bed an hour ago you just have to see it all the way to the end. Mine are
Ladyhawke
Princess Bride
Hot Potato
Gumball Rally
Shock Treatment
Galaxy Quest
Die Hard
Ghost
The Longest Day
Tora Tora Tora
Naked Gun, any of the series
Groundhog Day
Air Force One
Groundhog Day
Galaxy Quest and Apollo 13 were on the list for awhile, but I think I’m done with them now.
Buckaroo Banzai is on my “every other time” list, finally…unless it’s near the end, then I’ve got to see the end credits “Buckaroo Strut”.
Groundhog Day is a good one, I’ll copy that.
Space Balls is another one for me (it’s the only movie I’ve owned on VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray).
Mars Attacks! always sucks me in.
Groundhog Day
Goodfellas
About A Boy
Ghost World
The Godfather
(Though those last 2 are rarely shown on TV)
Kill Bill Vol. I & II
Armageddon
JAWS
The Sound of Music. If I tune in to it, I have to watch the rest of it. I don’t want to. I try not to, but I can’t help myself.
Casablanca
*A Few Good Men *
Die Hard
A Christmas Story
Rudy
The LOTR trilogy.
Apparently any friggin’ movie that AMC shows with those little “Movie Notes” things at the bottom of the screen.
Airplane
Gawd, yes. It’s almost like a cruel master at this point. I try to flip past it, but I just end up sighing in resignation and settling into the sofa.
Aliens
I probably know every line, but I still get sucked in.
The only other one I can think of is Nashville, but I haven’t seen that on telly for ages. And I can’t get it on DVD dammit.
Plan 9 From Outer Space
Bubba Ho-Tep
Stalag 17
Freaks
Goodfellas
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Commando
Predator
Kill Bill
Bogie:
Casablanca
To Have and Have Not
The Maltese Falcon
Marxism:
Monkey Business
Horsefeathers
Duck Soup
Other Comedy:
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Ferris Beuller’s Day Off
The Princess Bride
I’ll add:
Shaun of the Dead
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Oddly though, the list I’m compiling in my head is quite different from my favourite movies. I could watch any of the above over and over, but I couldn’t, for example, watch Fargo again.
Shawshank Redemption gets me every time. Heck, there was a point where I had probably watched 90% of that movie 5 or 6 times but had never actually seen the beginning of it.
Jaws gets me as well
Seconded. Also,
Rebecca
Thunderheart
Persuasion (Amanda Root)
Sense and Sensibility
The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
