I’m having a problem sending email from one account using Mozilla’s mail feature.
Background Info:
I have a personal account that I set up in Outlook Express a while ago. It works fine from Outlook: I can send and recive without a problem.
I recently went back to school, so I was assigned a university email account. I decided to get away from Outlook, so I download Netscape and set-up my university account in Netscape. It also works fine: I can send and recive without a problem.
Even more recently, I’ve decided to forgo Microsoft IE and download Mozilla as a brower. I’ve grown to like it. For the sake of efficiency, I’ve decided to centralize everything. I’m trying to set up my two email accounts in Mozilla.
Actual Problem:
While my personal account works fine from Mozilla, I cannot send email from my university account through Mozilla. When I click the send button, the message just churns and churns, but is never sent. I’ve compared the account setting in Mozilla to the account setting in Netscape repeatedly, but I cannot find a difference.
Mozilla only requires one outgoing server, even for multiple accounts. I initially had my personal email account’s outgoing server listed. Personal email would go out, university email would not. As an experiment, I changed the outgoing server in the Mozilla settings to be that of my university account, to see if university email would send but personal would not. Nope! Didn’t make a difference. Personal email still goes, university email does not.
An interesting addiditional piece of information: If I send email from my university account through Netscape (which still works fine), the sent message shows up in both the Netscape “sent” folder and the Mozilla “sent” folder.
So does anybody have any ideas or suggestions?
MY OS is Windows XP. Let me know if there is any other info you might need.
Thanks in advance!!
