I’m ranting about some work things in a different thread, and I do a vanity search to see what else I’ve posted in the past. I just re-discovered thes two threads of mine. They are about the same person, though I used a different [seudonym, nearly two years apart.
I believe every single person in my department has separately approached our boss about the woman and said, “She must go”. No onw believes she can be trained out of her habits.
So far the consequences for her have been very little. She was denied as much leave time as she wanted when she moved into her new home. She was really rathere unpleasant and snipey about it. She just completed a two week stretch without taking at least some time off, which is extraordinary fer her – really.
And in doing so, she screwed over a different coworker. She had nade a doctor’s appointment, and arranged for a coworker to come in and cover her hours. Then she canceled the medical appointment, didn’t say anything to the co-worker, and they both showed up for the same work shift. This was last Monday.
AFAIK there were no negative consequences for this. My boss seems rather paralysed.
I read both the linked threads just after you posted this OP, and I’m barracking for you to defeat the evil Madam X/Satanette and wave a glorious goodbye to her as she deservedly gets the ass.
My SO used to work with such a beast - he was unfortunate enough to end up employed to work along side her by two different companies in two different towns. She was so bad at her job, and she constantly ran to him for help, so that most of the time he did all her work for her. Fortunately, he eventually got to see her get fired twice - yeehaw! An example of how incompetent she was: She was hired as IT support. She once asked my SO to help her because she’d been working on a computer for 45 minutes and couldn’t get it to stop flashing the “No signal” error. The solution, of course, is to switch the computer on.
Sometimes karma is slow, but generally it does catch up.
