I’m going to throw my vote (which counts double, now that Obama’s in office :D) behind “Stuff I Must Share” unless someone comes up with a better phrase connoting miscellany.
If people are still seeking an alternative, I’ll throw out “Around the Water Cooler.”
I like this, or even just “The Water Cooler”. Fits in nicely next to the pit.

We could retitle it “Who Was Mr. Ruda Duda”, I suppose… or how about “Titanic Wallpaper”?

I like “Stuff I must share”. It retains a connection to the old name, important for old sentimentalists like me, while removing the problematic “mundane pointless”.

It would seem to cover most cases. You will probably have to mod out the occasional “chicken butt” thread.
It’s had the same name forever, and since the beginning, it’s had threads like the ones mentioned in the OP, so I don’t see the point. There’s something to be said for tradition, you know.
That was Field Marshal Haig’s response to people during WWI who suggested that climbing out of their trenches and slowly walking towards the enemy whilst under heavy machine-gun and artillery fire wasn’t working very well, too.

Although, now that I look at it, I’m not sure how much I like it…
Another vote to keep it as is. It’s tradition, it’s unique to the SDMB, it’s got an attitude and tone that Cecil might use, and when a thread isn’t really Mundane or Pointless, I’m not distracted by the forum title.
