And you suggested that it would not be added because it would not get much activity. In the light of other forums getting added that do not get much activity, one wonders why you introduced that criterion.
Yes, Marley23, this is what I was referring to. I was just skimming this thread and noticed that some people were suggesting an additional forum for personal grievances or celebrations - events that don’t really seem appropriate to be categorized as “mundane” or “pointless.”
This way, we wouldn’t even have to consider changing the name of MPSIMS.
None of those forums were split off from an older forum.
The MPSIMS name has been around a long time and I’ve never seen it offend or bother anyone. See jsgoddess’ post for one example. I’ve explained it once or twice to make sure a newbie wasn’t offended, but I don’t think there’s an imperative to do anything about it. In any case, we considered what people were saying here and the name isn’t being changed.

er… disregard that statement. We could make a sub-board (meaning it still shows up under “newest post” by MPSIMS, but is actually contained in a forum linked at the top of the MPSIMS index). I don’t think it’s necessary though.
Could we please have a forum just for the fluffy threads? Some days I really can’t handle the sad stuff, but I’d hate to miss important news like “I GOT A KITTY!”
