I was literally jumping with joy the first time I heard that they were adapting the lovely, underrated, shut-down-too-early TV-series Mr. and Mrs. Smith, into a movie starring Brad Pitt and Nicole Kidman.
Then, I felt hopelessness creeping again when I heard that Nicole Kidman had to drop out because of scheduling clashes. Then, utter despair upon the news that, following Kidman’s dropping out, Pitt was also jumping ship!!! AAAARGH
But now, Thank the Lord, it seems like the project is back again, with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. (http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=1174)
So, what do you think about that? I personally would have liked Kidman to stay - it felt more “right” so to speak, although some people may have trouble picturing her in an action-movie. I have nothing against Angelina Jolie per se, it’s just that Kidman sounded so right. But hopefully it’s gonna be great anyway.
Of course, nothing will ever beat the original Mrs.Smith, Maria Bello!
