Mr Dibble: What Kind of Crazy Is He?

okay, now the liberal Democrats are white supremacists? Because they care about the rights of other people?

Yes I claimed oppression.

Yes I claimed the Confederacy was “in the right.”

Yes you are an indispensable public servant.

No because they believe they should intervene in minority cultures to make them more White Liberally, taking for granted their superiority.

I think Mr Dibble is crazy…crazy like a fox. Man, this thread should be tagged as the model for an OP trying to pit someone and having it turn on him like a pack of rabid walruses just looking for a tasty fish.

On a more personal note, while I don’t often agree with Mr Dibble (read…hardly ever), he seems a good guy to me. He probably doesn’t remember, but he helped me out once in a PM about something I posted that he thought was racist and I honestly didn’t know was considered that (I actually didn’t know what the term in question meant, it just sounded funny to me and I had read it in a novel just that week). He wanted to make sure that I did know what it meant, and once I found out I was pretty mortified.

That’s not the actions of a guy described in the OP. I haven’t read the thread this OP was based on, but just skimming the comments I’d say the OP will probably not survive here. This doesn’t seem the place for him. Do yourself a favor, OP…either read a lot more before posting or just move on to greener message board pastures.

You wrote ‘should probably be culled for the good of the herd’; Mr. Dibble reinterpreted this to mean ‘should probably be culled for the good of the herd;’ and this means he’s twisted your words beyond recognition, and is ‘a smarmy, dishonest piece of fuck.’ Got it, I guess.

What is it with right-wingers and their need for ‘colorful language’? Truth isn’t on your side so you dress it up with exaggeration? Do you need a cite that the right-wing is full of idiots who would say something like this seriously? If such ‘colorful language’ is really needed then I think you should affix an asterisk in future along with a smiley-face and a disclaimer like “I am NOT a right-wing idiot — I’m just a right-wing imbecile.”

As for ‘doxxing’, I know very little about post-modern English. However posting someone’s photo, however public, along with commentary like yours is unacceptably rude. I can’t recall a post or rant on or off the SDMB as rude or obnoxious as yours … and I’ve been personally involved in rude and/or obnoxious ranting. Even Rush Limbaugh and Alex Jones—are they your idols, BTW?— may not be this obnoxious; and they, at least, are highly paid “comics.”

You’re supposed to sign off that awesome post with “Ya burnt!”

Read a lot more before posting? That and hostile and intellectually dishonest in-groups might be a couple of the reasons why message boards are increasingly anachronistic.

I didn’t know you were a Boomer.

Oh, snap!

Next you can say something like, “You use an iPhone!”

I think it’s more a culture thing. Each board has it’s own corporate culture, I suppose…including this one. You don’t need to be in the ‘in-group’ (I certainly am not) to be able to integrate with a board, even this board. But you do have to learn the rules of the road, so to speak. And the OP doesn’t seem to have done so, nor does the OP seem to be trying very hard.

This board has a high learning curve, IMHO, to survive more than a few months. A few weeks or even days in some cases.

No further characterization needed after Boomer Bureacrat. How is life as a trope?

This weekend is out for various reasons. Next weekend sometime? I’ll PM.

Hur hur hur – next you’ll say mean things like, “You voted for Hillary!”

Don’t you *hate *it when a hateful idiot is having a completely successful pit backfire, and then another hateful idiot, obviously starved for attention, tries to make it all about their own crazy home-brewed brand of hateful idiocy? Get your own thread, Will, this one’s for [del]me[/del] Jake.

I don’t know why, but this sentence has me laughing.

"This Dibble character! Haruuumph!

Also, “from what I gather”? It’s in the freaking Location field at the top of every post!

Don’t disrespect the Warnaby skills. He’s damn near Holmesian.

That Dibble character is alright. Don’t get me started in that MrDribble though.

Wait–did he just remove it or something? I’m not seeing it there.

  1. “Lying” is an attempt by you to define what MrDibble said. Nobody thinks MrDibble actually knew what you intended and yet lied about it; what he was doing was characterizing what you said in an uncharitable way. And what you said was, frankly, dangerously close to a typical racist dog whistle, where the racist would say “of course I didn’t mean lynching black people!” but would actually have intended to allude to lynching. The purpose being to use a superficially covert implication that other racists (even “closeted” racists who might not be overtly aware of their own racism) would interpret and nod to themselves about but retain at least a veneer of plausible deniability – the racist could claim “no, I wasn’t technically, overtly referring to lynching and anyone who says so is a damned liar!”

You know, like in a Pit thread.

  1. Not doxxing. But making negative comments about the appearance of black people – especially implying that they look like criminals or persons of low moral character – is a favorite game of racists and hatemongers stretching back hundreds of years in American slavery and racial separatism, from before the Confederacy all the way up to the latest Fox News personality comparing Michelle Obama to an ape.

TL;DR: Maybe you’re not racist. But you’ve engaged in two of the most prominent, dare I say flagship racist conversational gambits and it’s hard to blame MrDibble for seeing it and calling you out.
