In a way it is funny, but I also think that reunion shows that take place years later and show little to no growth or change in a character to be pretty sad (a great example is the Andy Griffith reunion movie with everyone elderly but still pretty much in the same place they were decades ago.) in this case, the last scene of the Monk series finale implied that he was getting past some of his fears with the presence of Trudy’s daughter. This clip steals that all away.

Not to me. I just assume that the CV pandemic is enough to cause a temporary relapse in someone so OCD/germophobic. An short episode of Monk not being germophobic? What would be the point?

He certainly improved after finding her killer. Perhaps the covid 19 isolation caused a relapse. At any rate, it wasn’t in the program, it’s just an amusing little program.
I loved that. I was a much bigger fan of Sharona than Natalie, but that’s a minor quibble.
On a different note, I loved that apartment. I wonder if it’s really theirs. And that Moroccan chandelier you could see in the entry hall is the same one I have in my bedroom (except that mine has mauve-colored beads).
Monk met Trudy’s daughter at the end of the last episode, after he found her killer. That is whom he was walking on the beach with, when she told him she was going to the Toronto Film Festival and would be back in a couple of weeks. (She was a film reviewer.) And he started boring everyone with all the pictures he had started taking of her.
Hunh. I just remembered he was wearing different clothes, but still wanted to check the pilot light when he left.
