This explains nothing. I have a common ancestor with a starfish, but we can’t interbreed. (Not that I’ve tried).
Starfish aren’t bipedal.
Patrick Star is, I understand.
You can have sex with a chocolate starfish but that won’t produce offspring.
On that note, I would say that the fact that all across the galaxy sentients look the same modulo weird ears and forehead wrinkles, should be proof to the young earth creationists that they were all made in gods image and so all be the same as far as the divine plan.
His primary concern should be whether or not God allows idiots into Heaven.
Lori Lemaris would have an extra degree of difficulty, I should think, due to the whole being a fish below the waist thing.
Well, she would lay her eggs and he would germinate them. I guess it would actually be pretty easy.
In more recent interpretations, Lori gains legs when she comes out on land, a la Darryl Hannah in Splash, so they just couldn’t do it in the water.
I heard she was dating Tommy Roe for a while.
What does Lori use to keep her hair like that under water?
Aqua-Net.
Spock sacrificing his life wasn’t much of a sacrifice, since obviously, he got his life back. Kinda like Jesus’ sacrifice, one can argue.
He may be saying that aliens, having evolved through an entirely separate evolutionary pathway, may not have anything like a soul.
If they “evolved,” they definitely don’t have souls. Souls are the exclusive property of beings created directly from the mind of The One And Only White Christian Supreme Being; all others are no better than golems (or, as we were taught in Catholic school, “brutes”).
Vulcans don’t exactly have a soul but instead a katra which seems to work a little differently. Vulcans never entirely die, for their katra lives on, but unlike a soul, the katra can be implanted in another living body. So a katra needs to remain accessible, and can’t go to some eternally irreversible place like heaven or hell.
This is stated where?
I read about it at the memory-alpha and memory-beta Trek wikis, which in turn cite all the episodes, movies, and novels where all those tidbits of knowledge came from.

I’m not a trekkie at all, but I did live for 6 months with a guy who was, so I watched a lot of Star Trek.
The reason I post is: I am pretty sure “Mr” is the wrong title, was he not “Dr. Spock”?
