I was IMing my girlfriend, and she asked me this, and I couldn’t figure it out. What do you guys think?

girlfriend : yeah i have a problem for you mto solve

girlfriend: my mom keeps getting the same email like 10 times and its backing up jher computer and she cant figure out what is causing it

girlfriend: from different places
girlfriend: she will recieve like 10 of one and 10 of another and they are the same

chekmate: where is she getting them?
girlfriend: from different people and friends
girlfriend: into her in box
chekmate: just of the same e-mail?
chekmate: she could just set up a filter to filter out what is in the subject of that one e-mail
girlfriend: no they arent all the same emails
girlfriend: but when it is that person it likes sends 10 of that email
chekmate: I don’t know sweetie
chekmate: I’ll see if I can find out
girlfriend: maybe can you look into it and ask around for me?

chekmate: what e-mail is she using?
girlfriend: ok i was wondering if you were still there
girlfriend: she is using hers

I think that she is refering to getting the same copy of an e-mail, tens times, from everyone who sent her one.

Outlook 2000, Outlook 2001 for Mac, Outlook 2002, Outlook 97, Outlook 98, or Outlook Express? Mac, PC, Linux, Commodore 64?

Almost definitely the Klez virus, but it might also be a problem with her mailbox. Ask her to contact her ISP/ameritech to investigate. They can clear or rebuild her mailbox so it’s made afresh.
