The OUTLOOK on my office computer uses this address: bear.nenno@office.branch.mil
I also have a personal email that I use on my OUTLOOK at home. That email address is
bear.nenno@country.branch.mil
For some reason, if I try to send an email to my personal email from my business email, it just sends that email to its own Inbox. I guess it recognizes the “bear.nenno” and the “…branch.mil” and thinks it’s the same address. I can’t even reply to an email that was sent from home to work. It just replies back to work. I dont get it. There is no problem with sending from home to work, though. For some reason, my home OUTLOOK sees the two as unique addresses.
Is there some option in MS Outlook that is causing it to do this?
I often need to email other people who have @country.branch.mil, address but if they also have an @office.branch.mil address, my work computer will only send to that one. WTF. A lot of people never use their @office.branch.mil accounts, so they never get my emails.
I’m hoping there is some Tool or Option or Setting somewhere that will fix this thing. It can’t be some limit to OUTLOOK, because I have the same OUTLOOK at home and it doesn’t have this problem.
Why not just create a new contact for bear.nenno@country.branch.mil like personalbear? When you create a new msg, just type personalbear as the recipient in the “To:” line. Are you saying that the addressee is bear.nenno@country.branch.mil, but the mail is still being sent to bear.nenno@office.branch.mil? Then I don’t know the answer. That probably has nothing to do with Outlook, but a quirk in the mail server.
Yeah. I type in “bear.nenno@country.branch.mil”, but it sends to itself (@office.branch.mil). Same if I try to send to other peoples’ personal accounts. It sends to their office accounts even though they probably never use them.
A problem in the mail server may explain why my personal OUTLOOK doesn’t have an issue. Unfortunately, that would mean that I can’t do anything to fix it, right?
There must be some rule telling it to forward all the “country” emails to the “office” emails. Most likely it is set that way on the mail server itself, so you would not be able to change that.
