MS Word 2007: list styles. Can I set paragraph styles within them?

Okay, so I’m trying to create some sort of template for multi-level lists in Word 2007 (a matter of necessity, not choice). I do not want to use the “multi-level lists” feature, as this is a) deprecated by Microsoft and b) fucking useless. I have therefore attempted to use their new “list styles” feature. I can specify numbering formats, numbering fonts and text indentations for each level. I can not for the life of me format the paragraphs belonging to each list level.

Is there any way I can make, say, the top-level list item automatically look like a heading, and subsequent levels look like paragraphs? I want my lists to look something like this:

1 Heading Text

1.1 Stuff will be written here blah blah blah
indent More stuff will be written here also blah blah[/INDENT]

At the moment I simply can’t find a way to differentiate “Heading Text” from the “stuff will be written here” bits, without creating the list, then going back and selecting all the bits that are headings and formatting them individually. This is a right pain in the arse, and it’s driving me nuts. Any help will earn my eternal gratitude and a link to the best youtube video I’ve seen this year (which features beatboxing, so if this isn’t your cup of tea speak up and I’ll find something else).

Never mind, I just found the “link level to style” option. Christ, but the Ribbon really hasn’t improved the discoverability in Word. Sorry, sorry; boring thread, solved within minutes of posting despite having spent hours looking previously. Rrrrgh.
