MSBlast... I hate you.

Alright, bare with me here…

I disabled RPC… the startup type was set to disabled…

I did this because I was trying to get rid of the MSBlast worm.

I reset the computer.

So now svchost doesn’t load when I turn on the computer. And I can’t set the startup type back to automatic… in fact… I can’t do very much of anything on that computer now (like connect to the internet, et cetera)

WHAT CAN I DO?!! Darned people hurting innocents with their worms…

If this is XP, boot to the recovery console (it’s an option at boot time). Type “Help” - there are commands in the recovery console to list all available services, and change their startup type between auto/manual/disabled.

…BTW, I’m willing to bare with you - but won’t your partner object?

This is Windows 2000 that I’m using.

Oh, and a play on my wording… cute. Heh.

I bet anyone who is able to answer this was in the areas that were part of the blackout. :\
