Woohoo! The Cinematic Titanic live tour is coming to town!
If you don’t know, Cinematic Titanic is the project involving just about all the Best Brains crew that aren’t involved in Rifftrax. Joel Hodgson, Trace Beaulieu, Frank Conniff, Mary Jo Pehl and J. Elvis Weinstein – all performing in a MST3K-esque silhouette style.
They’ll be heading to the Trocadero in Philly on Friday, June 12th and Saturday, June 13th. I’ll be there for one of the showings – anyone interested in making an event of it?
Different films are being shown each night. On Friday it’ll be the Kung-Fu/Blaxploitation combo East Meets Watts (aka Dynamite Brothers), and on Saturday they’ll be riffing Danger on Tiki Island (aka Brides of Blood).
So…anyone have a preference on which show? From reviews I’ve read, they’re both very good, with the Friday show getting a slight edge in bringing the funny. Saturdays work slightly better for me, but Friday isn’t out of the question. Don’t ask me yet what time the show is – I can’t seem to find that bit of info anywhere…on a guess, I’d say 7 or 8 pm.
Also, don’t ask me how much it is – tickets aren’t on sale yet (presale begins on May 11th). However, in checking ticket prices for other venues where they’re appearing, I’m finding they range from the mid-$30 area to the high-$40’s.
So…anyone up for this?
