MSU v U of M

So. I never went to EITHER school. I had a great friend during Desert Storm that at one time played footbal for State, so of course, that’s who I root for. Mrs xploder, on the other hand, has three brothers and three sisters. Out of the six of them, I believe that five went to MSU, one went to State and one went to Eastern.

Personally, I want State to win because they are ALWAYS the underdog. Last year, they beat the shit out of MSU and I’m hoping they do so again. That way, when the Mrs, me and cristi go back out to the dueling piano bar, I can laugh in the face of the musical director (a good friend) who thinks that State sucks.

Now then…

FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT

um, perhaps you mean Michigan State vs. say, U of M??? or Eastern Michigan or ???

Clarification please (assuming MSU vs. U of M since that games on for this weekend)

D’OH

ahem…yes, I stand (sit) corrected. MSU v UofM

duh…just read my sig I guess…

there are too many MSU’s. It annoys me. I’m going to be attending Mississippi State University fall of '01 and every time i see or hear MSU my ears prick up. It’s never “MY” MSU, though. :growls a little:

Well I attended Northern Montana College which was later changed to MSU Havre. Doubtful it was the M you had in mind.

Just had to get that in… Since I graduated from there and such:)

well, not only did I graduate there, I still live in the Lansing area and my son works at MSU.

So, yea, Spartans (over 1 year since our last student riot!)

Well, I thought this thread was going to be a discussion over Memphis State’s (MSU) name change to the University of Memphis (U of M). As a big Memphis State basketball fan, I must say I am sorely disappointed.

Just kidding! Please don’t shoot me!

I’m not a football fan, but if I’ve gotta root for somebody, it’s gonna be State. My sister & her husband both have degrees from there. My mom got her degree from Eastern, which has the same colors.

Although that piano player that you mentioned is a truly fine fellow, I will happily join you in mocking him, should State win. But after the fire that was Michigan rained down from the sky on the heads of Indiana last Saturday, I fear it will be him mocking us. I don’t know diddly about football, but I sure know a butt-whuppin’ when I see one. Sheesh.

MSU

Go Bucky!!

But otherwise MSU gets my vote!

wring…

A whole year since your last riot??? We’ve got UW-Oshkosh where the kids riot at least once a year.

Packers win the Superbowl, they riot,
Badgers win the Rose Bowl, they riot
Badgers make the Final Four, they riot

Should be veddy, veddy quiet this year… :frowning:

Two words: Go Blue!!!

I’m a Northwestern alumni, so I’m rooting for the Spartans to kick Wolervine butt.

Even if it seems unlikely. It looks like the point spread is 15 1/2 points in favor of the Wolverines, according to yahoo.

hey ** sledman ** I tried to get the city of East Lansing to post one of those signs that say “100 days since our last uprising” at the edge of the city. they wouldn’t go for it. :frowning: Some people have ** no ** sense of humor.

Yeah, what he said

MSU v. UofM is one of those games (in the company of FSU v. Miami, OSU v. UofM, and Nebraska v. KSU) where I vote for the terrorist. I’m sorry if that sounds aweful, but if both teams could somehow lose this game, that’s the what I want the outcome to be.

In no way does this poster condone acts of violence.

I live in the Lansing area, too, wring, and I also work for the U. If I buy you a beer, does that constitute a dope fest?

And if I’m not here Monday morning, that means that the riot was worse than usual.

GO SPARTANS!!!

Any school that has a beaver with attitude for a mascot should loose by default.

Former resident of the Virgin Vault (if you don’t know, you’re no friend of Sparty)

Wring, alright! Another Lansing-ite, er, Lansing-ander, um, well, whatever. did you ever log onto the site East Lansing set up with pictures of rioters? People could email the City police department if they recognized someone. What a riot (laught riot, that is)!

Since I will be starting at MSU (my new job-hooray!) on Monday, of course I have to root for State! Not to mention that my dad got his engineering degree there and my grandfather (his dad) got his degree in microbiology there - it’d be almost treacherous to say “Go Blue”. I’ve even got my fingernails painted green!
