mswas is a trolling hunk of shit

It’s self-fucking-evidently good debate manners, because how are we to distinguish between a good troll and a Devil’s Advocate after the fact?

And you’d have to have my respect to lose it, bitch.

I dunno, by not being a complete fucking moron?

Did you hear that? It was the sound of my heart breaking.

I would’ve thought putting (hypothetical) in the subject title would help people to understand I wasn’t arguing a position that I hold to. I guess I give people too much credit.

There are some very bright atheists like Revenant Threshold on this forum, but there is also a substantial contingent over whom I appoint Mr. Dibble God-Emperor, who are just really fucking dumb. Der Trihs of course is court jester.

We’re not talking about the hypothetical (that you are an atheist) but the rest of it - the stuff you said flowed as a consequence of your atheism. If you don’t believe that any of *that *is true, then you really are just being an asshole for the sake of it, aren’t you?

Why does that follow? Why must one thing be hypothetical but none of the rest of it may be hypothetical? Are you really that mentally inflexible?

Oh, come on. Use your head.

If I posted: “Hypothetically, suppose I became a Christian. I would then immediately paint my entire house seafoam green and buy a Prius and turn my socks inside-out, because that’s how Christians act.”

Because, if I hypothetically decided to become a Christian, what’s wrong with also hypothetically turning my socks inside out? Are you that mentally inflexible that you can’t handle two hypothetical situations at once?

Except what does one have to do with the other? If I want to discuss the merits of Christianity, I should discuss Christianity. If I want to discuss the merits of turning my socks inside-out, I should discuss that. If I want to posit that there’s some link between Christianity and turning socks inside-out, I should somehow establish that there’s some neccesarily link between the two.

Otherwise why even bring up the sock issue?

Do you think that people who are atheists tend to be nihilistic sociopaths or not? Yeah, there really are nihilistic sociopaths in the world, and they aren’t pleasant to be around, but you should either defend your theory that nihilism and sociopathy are likely consequences of atheism, or–get this–not bring it up.

So which is it? Are nihilism and sociopathy a consequence of atheism, or not? Hint: This is a trick question, because either way you answer you’re doing to look like a douche.

There is a clearer notion of normative Christianity than there is of normative atheism.

Nothing is wrong with it, you cvan turn your sock inside out if you want when you become a Christian. It doesn’t tell me that this has anything to do with how other Christians react to their conversion experience.

I did establish the link. If you’re too stupid to comprehend the notion of ‘Re-evaluating my entire system of thought because the first principle has been removed.’ then that’s your problem, not mine.

Why indeed?

Yes, there are atheists who are nihilistic sociopaths. I’ve met some. One that I am thinking of was a heroin addict when I knew him. Do you think that somehow his heroin addiction reflects upon you?

Not a consequence but a possible outcome. I find your clever Lilliputian snare does not work quite so cleverly when there aren’t hundreds of you and I’m not asleep.

Do you really think I’m that fucking naive? This isn’t the first time you tried pulling this *post hoc *defence, and it was shown to be bullshit then too.
Plus you’re still in there arguing away. You can’t have it both ways.

There’s nothing to defend against. I made a hypothetical argument, indicated so in the thread title.

You’re a fucking idiot and so is Lemur as are several others.

You are sitting here arguing with me about what I meant, and I am saying no I didn’t. As I am the be all and end all authority on what I meant, I’m gonna go with my definition.

If the word ‘hypothetical’ is that hard for you to comprehend then you’ve got much bigger problems than whether or not I think you are a sociopath.

You may not be a sociopath, but you ARE an oversensitive little Nancy-Boy.

What office do you hold among the Useless Loony contingent?

Oops. Too late.

So, you’re seriously trying to argue that you just decided to play “What if I reconsidered everything about my life”, and you seriously just happened to imagine that you’d become an atheist sociopath nihilist, instead of–say–an atheist beekeeping jogger?

You know an atheist heroin addict? I know a Christian who’s in prison for purposefully running over someone with his truck, and the person ended up dead. My cousin’s husband as a matter of fact. Well, it’s not so much that he ran over the guy, it’s more that he stopped, put the truck in reverse, and ran over him again. Like that old saying that there are no atheists in foxholes, there are very few atheists in prison either.

So does that Christian in prison for murder reflect on you in any way? Does it say anything about the possible or likely consequences of Christianity?

You honestly can’t imagine any alternative to Christianity other than nihilism? Honestly? Because I honestly can’t believe you honestly can’t imagine anything else.

mswas, your thread implied, whether you explicitly stated it or not, that you thought atheists were selfish amoral sociopaths incapable of love. Either you didn’t realize that such a thing would be implied by your OP, whether you explicitly stated it or not, or you did realize it. If you didn’t realize that, you’re an idiot. If you did realize that, you’re an asshole. Choose one.

If you think that covers your ass, try posting a “hypothetical: I’m converting to Judaism so I can drink the blood of Christian babies” thread and see how that works for you.

Since you have previously been shown to be variously: a liar, a dishonest debater and high as a kite, no, I don’t think I’ll agree.

I comprehend it well enough, I just don’t believe you. Because of that bad “making shit up to suit your arguments after the fact” habit you have.

And if you think Nancy-Boy is an insult to me, you’re even more immature than your “get high and jerk chains” posting habits would suggest.

Why don’t you stick to CS, where at least your (excellent) music tastes make you seem a little sussed. In GD and the Pit, you end up looking like (at best) a deluded moron, and at worst, an outright troll. And I’d hate for you to go over the line and get banned again. I really mean that.

MrDibble I appreciate your concern I really do. ;p I apologize for insulting you and your co-religionists.

Like I said nothing you’ve said today has insulted me. My intelligence has been insulted yes but not me.

Hmmm…in that other thread, I had you pegged for a dickwad. After eleanorigby kindly informed me of my gender-mistake, I now correctly label you a prissy fucktard.

Better?

As for the topic of this thread – mwas – batshit insane.

That about covers it, right?

He (mswas) put the word “hypothetical” in the title of his post. Was he actually being hypothetical in his statements, or did he actually mean what he said in his post?
