Coming after all that hard work he’s done in his DT Pit Thread to convince us that he, mswas, is the rational objective one, and his detractors are the ones who use bullshit arguments, this post 6066 seems such a shame.
(Tongue partly-in-cheek - I’ve honestly no idea what mswas was hoping to achieve in his pit thread)

What do you mean, trolling? I admit that his stance may be a hypothetical one, but it doesn’t seem like a bad foundation for a debate. It’s a fucking sight more civil than most OPs from people with the latest bone to pick with the permanently deluded theists.

I don’t think it’s trolling; it’s devastating ignorance creating a straw man of egregious proportions. Whether it’s wilful misunderstanding of what he deems to be his “opposition” or otherwise, well, who knows. There are plenty of theistic types who do understand the atheist position, and for that I thank them. mswas clearly isn’t one of them.
However, since mswas states that it’s “only about the way I see it”, then I propose that it isn’t really a debate at all - it’s witnessing (or anti-witnessing) and I guess GD is the correct place for it.

Anyway, the OP in the other thread seemed like trolling to me; I can’t believe mswas is obtuse enough to think his “hypothetical” represents the way atheists really are (unless he’s “debated” atheists for years here without ever actually reading their posts, which I guess is possible).
I do not understand the point of this thread. Many people replied to MSWAS’ thread. Some took him seriously, some people thought that he was trying to play ‘devil’s advocate’ and some people saw that he was trolling. Some guy even said he was trolling in GD and got told off for it.
Is the only reason you started this thread that you could use the word ‘trolling’ against MSWAS?

The OP thinks that mwas was trolling and said so in the correct area of the board. This is a perfectly valid thread for a valid reason. The OP may be incorrect but that’s what this thread is for.
I don’t know about ‘troll’. There are some intelligent and articulate religious posters here whom I disagree with. On the other hand, I keep noticing this Triumvirate of Dingdongs (lekatt, kanicbird, mswas), who can be relied upon to crapjack serious discussions of spirituality with their own just-so statements, rambling incoherent rationale, and made-up dreck. So you’re a crappy person who can only get along with society because god tells you to. OK, we get that, we all really get it. Please stop assuming that everyone else shares your lack of restraint and empathy with others.
And, true to form ,the post was probably the longest and most elaborate strawman I have ever seen. I wonder how long it took him to set up an effigy just to set it on fire to amuse himself.

So at 1.32 MSWAS was called a jerk. At 2.14 someone said he was deliberately setting up a straw man argument. At 3.56 MSWAS was practically accused of trolling. That is all in GD. This thread just seems like a waste of time. I will not be back.
