I cannot believe that I haven’t run into this kind of a problem until now. I have a computer with an onboard video card. Now, I want to put a new, better video card into the computer. I know that this will cause all sorts of problems.
Do I disable the original video card in the BIOS or in System Hardware?
If it is in the BIOS, normal Award BIOS, where would it be?
On my first and last on-board videocard system (An old NEC) it was a jumper.
I doubt something like that would be BIOS changable. It should be a dip switch or jumper on the board for videocard changes.
did you try and just plug in the new card? assuming you have an agp slot then its possible that simply plugging into that slot disables onboard video.
if not then have a look in your bios for a video setting and or your motherboard manual for jumpers and all that fun stuff.
