Hello, all. Just thought I’d drop by and say hello. Haven’t been around much, mostly just lurking when I was.
Happy news from Podkayne’s life. I have a job in the spring as a part-time lecturer at a local liberal arts college. As you may know, part-time lecturer is about the suckiest job in academia, but with luck, it’s just one semester, and I will be move on to a better position in the fall, and it’s better than my previous prospects for spring employment (which is to say, none.) This implies the getting-done of the thesis . . . Which is why I haven’t been 'round much anymore. 
Other happy news: I’m typing this post from my brand new iBook. The Baby (I call it the New Baby) is 5.9 pounds, the mother is recovering nicely.
