Museum exhibit to show dinosaurs and man co-existing

I thought God drove them out in a Plymouth.

A Plymouth FURY. ;j

Interestingly, they don’t list a proper e-mail address on their site. Rather, they have a Question Submission page with this disclaimer:

I’m going to link to some actual Bible passages and current scientific research while applying my own brand of hard to grasp logical developement and see how long it takes to get a response. Qa’plah!

May I respectfully suggest that you not hold your breath. That “replies can take several months” sounds like ass-covering, if you ask me.

But please, let us know what you send them. Perhaps we can have Polycarp and others review the submission, so everything is watertight.

In all fairness, I should point out that when the account has them driven out in the back of a '71 Ford F-100, they already had clothes. Anything before that, though, and the account has them nekkid.

IDEA!

::runs thru Eden nekkid::

#1 - Probably right.

#2 - No offense, but I have held my own on my own with fundie theologins for many, many years now. But thanks for the thought. (no sarcasm, really)

Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply you were less than a worthy intellect for Answers in Genesis. Two brains are better than one and all, is all I was suggesting. Go for it!

I still want to see what you submit, if it won’t be considered a board war.

Oh, and this I gotta see:

When I have it done, I’ll e-mail a mod and see if I can post my essay. If not, I’ll e-mail it to any who want it. Don’t mail your requests yet, please. I’ll have a working draft available sometime within a week. And it will be a serious, non flaming response to the tired Creationism mindset. While being cordial, I will not pull punches. I firmly believe Creationism to be a blight on all of Christianity, somewhere just behind the Crusades.
JEEBUS! Even in the Genesis account, the confusing of languages at the Tower of Babel has nothing to do with race. See!? You wonder why stuff like this infuriates me?
Ivy, I’ll e-mail you a copy before I submit. Maybe our FTSFS I-III Team could help polish it up after all.

Best guess is the guy is taking the story of the issuing out of diversity of languages as an implication that this was also when folks magically looked different to “fit” their new language.

Anyone else wondering about the details of a possible (don’t remember seeing it mentioned in the article, don’t really feel like defiling myself by looking at the site) Moses-receives-the-ten-commandments scene? Language? Punctuation? Version of Bible verses used? Inaccuracies in translation (“thou shalt not kill” indeed)?

Well, I’m not a Christian, but maybe I can throw in some serious questions. I’ll be happy to take a look.

How’s this for a working title? (I use titles as a thematic tool. The proper title should imply the theme, imho.)
Creation: The Bible, the Facts, Logic, and You

or maybe…

Creation: The Bible, Logic, and Your Faith

Ahem, I didn’t hijack the thread–I commented on what Ken Ham said in the article. I didn’t bring up Bush, Ken Ham did.

Or are you saying that we may only be snarky about the things you agree we should snark on, but not comment on any part of the article that you agree with?

I’m not interested in bashing Bush, but the idea that one may not comment on what was said in an article referenced in the OP is rubbish.

But a T-Rex with a flaming sword is waaaaaaay cooler.

Now, if only it were a T-Rex with a flaming sword wearing one of those pointy German helmets…

How about this:

Creation: Faith, Facts and Fallacies

?

You said,

I assumed you were making a sarcastic comment about Mr. Ham’s assumptions about the 2004 elections. Not all GOPers would agree with Mr. Ham’s interpretation of the Bible, and I was just trying to head off at the pass any possible hijack into political mudslinging.

I apologize if I misunderstood you.

My guess is that it’s going to go back to Ham-ish though about the races. So, not only is this thing going to be creationistic to a ridiculous extreme, but very likely racist, too. :frowning:

That’s my #1 choice for the time being. Make suggestions or vote by Wednesday, when I’ll begin working on it.

I have to watch OU beat the Condoms on Tuesday, you see.

Brings up an interesting question, reflecting on the GD thread about dietary restrictions, and such. Adam and Eve, having escaped the Tyrannousourus and all, were still Jews, yes? Even though it preceded the writing of Leviticus, and the restrictions laid out there…were they stiil forbidden to eat Jurassic pork?

I don’t see it being racist; my assumption, and I could be wrong, is that Mr. Ham is assimilating current anthropological opinion that race is an artificial construct with no basis in science into the creationist trope that Darwin invented racism.

And the GOP Dopers who pretend that they actually care about fighting ignorance should feel very proud of their accomplishments

[QUOTE]

Cheap shot, gobear. Granted, since I’ve decided to leave the party, I’m probably not the best spokesperson here, but not all of us are knee-jerk ideologues, and not all of us voted for Bush.

All this chit-chat and not a single link to the Creation Museum has been offered. Let me rectify that!

The Creation Museum - Take the walk-thru - I insist!
