This has been bugging me for a while. Can anyone tell me why it that almost all CD and Video release dates are on a Tuesday?

It says that they used to release them on Monday, but because of logistics problems, some stores got the releases earlier in the day then others, so they moved the day to Tuesday to ensure everyone had the goods to sell.
Which makes me wonder why they didn’t just send the new releases out earlier, so that they would get there by Monday.
