So I just heard today that Ed Sheeran is going to be doing a concert on Ellis Island sometime soon. Is there car access to Ellis Island, or do all of the concertgoers have to take boats to the show?
Have there been concerts there before? Is there a concert venue?
There’s no car access to Ellis Island. They’ll probably repurpose the passenger ferry for Liberty Island to move concertgoers to and from Ellis Island. The two islands aren’t far from each other. The Manhattan side of the trip will probably start in Battery Park. I doubt there’s a permanent concert venue there. I suspect the stage will be an assembly of scaffolding and tarps and the seating will be blankets concertgoers bring spread out on some grass.
