We transferred our music files from iTunes to Windows Media Player & they worked just fine on my PC’s. Then we transfer the music to our Android Phone but all but four of the songs will not play via the Music App that comes with the phone. It only says that the files are unrecognizable. They work on iTunes, on WMP, on everything on my PC, and they did on my now-deceased iPod. But they won’t play on my phone. What am I doing wrong?
You likely have the files saved as AAC (or ALAC) which your Android player may not recognize. Try downloading something like Blackplayer from the Google Play store.
Alternatively, you could convert your music files to MP3. Personally, I use MediaHuman Audio Converter for that task - I also use it to convert my 320kbps MP3s to a lower bitrate to save space on my phone. If you use this, keep in mind that it outputs all of the files into the same directory, regardless of the directory structure of the source, so I would recommend doing one album (or folder) at a time.
