Music to rock the Apocalypse by

Genesis - Supper’s Ready

There’s an angel standing in the sun
And he’s crying with a loud voice
“This is the supper of the mighty one”
Lord of Lords, King of Kings
Has returned to lead his children home
To take them to the new Jerusalem

Indian Love Call by Slim Whitman

Waltzing Matilda

There is a correct answer because it all started so innocently with 99 Red Balloons.

Afterwords I expect All By Myself will be on loop.

Bomber, by Motorhead, all the way, or Ace of Spades, that song just rocks no matter the circumstances.

You, sir, have excellent taste in music.

A’ Bomb in Wardour Street – The Jam

I mean, it’s quite a bit on the nose, but… HAIL THE APOCALYPSE.

If you’re going to go classical, Carl Orff’s O Fortuna from Carmina Burana is traditional end-of-the-world music.

Flash and the Pan specialized in apocalyptic music in a minor key. The song dealing with a nuclear apocalypse was “California,” but they also dealt with the Titanic (“Down Among the Dead Men”) and the destruction of Atlantis (“Atlantis Calling”),

I’d go with some classic Goth. Maybe Sisters of Mercy’s Black Planet, maybe Fields of the Nephilim’s Trees Come Down, maybe Siouxsie’s Cities In Dust.

Or maybe something more downtempo - I think Swans’ Goddamn The Sun will serve.

I don’t see how it can’t be Hell Awaits. Playing the soundtrack to the apocalypse is the entire reason Slayer even exists.

Another poster with excellent taste in music!

Beethoven’s Ode to Joy for the sheer incongruity.

Anything, pretty much, by TOOL.

The Gates of Delirium. Yes.

Jolly good thread.

I nominate the Rolling Stones ‘Sympathy for the Devil’.

Savoy Brown - Hellbound Train

Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth

‘Imagine’–john lennon

“One eight seven seven Kars four Kids…”
