After struggling for eight days and only managing about a thousand words a day, I think my first plot for nanowrimo is not going to be successful. As a radical move to stay in the game, I started a new story last night. It’s a story set just after a world-wide disaster (whose nature I haven’t actually decided on yet) wipes out the greater part of humanity. Of course, I’m now about 14,000 words behind, so I’m hoping to make an inspiring soundtrack to help me catch up.
So far I have “Aenema” by Tool and “Flood” by Jars of Clay. What other songs should I add to a soundtrack for the end of days?
Any sort of song that suggests an end to things as we know it is fine - somewhere I have a song about the world being eaten by goats that I’ll need to find, so I’m sure whatever you think of will be at least as appropriate
Wooden Ships (Crosby, Stills and Nash is my preferred version) -
“I can see by your coat my friend
you’re from the other side…
there’s just one thing I’d like to know,
can you tell me please,
Who won?”
ETA: just remembered the album 666, from Aphrodite’s Child (with Vangellis)
“Lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven” by GodSpeedYouBlackEmperor or “F#A#(inifinity symbol)” by them should do the trick…especially Dead Flag Blues on the latter album
