I just thought of another too…this one has not one, but TWO windows that “appear” to be shot in one take (although you can tell it’s edited in a few parts–the effect is still pretty damn cool).
Paul Kelly’s God Told Me To - this one doesn’t just “appear” to be shot in one take, it’s pretty blatant about it since it’s starts on his eye and slowly pulls back until you can see his whole body by the end of the clip. Still manages to tell an interesting story, and is really quite intense. Great song too. (For those that don’t know him, Paul Kelly is a bit of an Australian legend. This won Best Music Video at the Inside Film Awards in 2007.)
The directors, Godley and Creme, had pushed the envelope of video editing with their previous video, Waung Chung’s “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” where they edited every single frame. So they decided on this one to have no edits at all.
It looks very much like they were both indeed shot with one take.
I know there was another thread about this before; that’s how I discovered Lisa Loeb. But unfortunately, “one” and “take” aren’t allowable search terms on the dope. Bleah.
I remember that one. It might be hard to tell at youtube resolution, but there are several obvious dissolves visible at regular TV resolution.
I seem to remember a song not too long ago where, in the video, it followed a bunch of wires around a big house. It went from room to room just tracing the wires of the band members instruments and various other lights and stereos and stuff. Anyone know what video I’m talking about? It was a rock-ish song.
