Musical episodes of non-musical series.

Buffy had one. Todd and the Book of Pure Evil had one. I liked them both. Please point me to more.

Simpsons

All Singing, All Dancing

Xena had “The Bitter Suite.”

South Park is a big one. Episodes that were musicals or that included musical numbers include:

It’s Christmas in Canada (Welcome Friends to Canada, French Canada, and other songs)
Chocolate Salty Balls
Fat Camp (The Prostitute Song)
Good Times With Weapons (Let’s Fighting Love)
Elementary School Musical (several songs)
Pee (Minorities at my Water Park)

And, of course, the South Park movie (Bigger, Longer, and Uncut) is a full musical. I blame Canada. Oh, and Kyle’s mom is a bitch.

Some other episodes have songs in them but arguably aren’t “musicals” per se because the performance of the songs are part of the plot (e.g. a concert) rather than spontaneous character singing.

Probably doesn’t qualify, but The Flintstones: “Let the Sun Shine in…” Heh, I haven’t thought about that in a long time.

Big Bang Theory: Raj’s fantasy sequence with Bernadette.

How I Met Your Mother: Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit. Really good stuff!!!

There was an episode of Two and a Half Men. I thought it was pretty lame and remember little about it.

Scrubs, “My Musical.”

I vaguely remember Drew Carey Show’s episode “New York and Queens.”

Can anyone complete a Christa Miller hat trick? ^^^

There was a musical episode of Ally MacBeal.

Not surprisingly, Jane Krakowski was the only really good singer of the regular cast members.

I vaguely recall ***Moonlighting ***having a musical epsiode, but I can’t remember any details at all… and I’m not 100% sure I’m not imagining things!

Yeah, that rings a bell. I’m remembering an image of a horse wearing sunglasses.

Bob’s Burgers just had one a few weeks ago.

There was no singing in “Atomic Shakespeare.”

The Drew Carey Show had several episodes with musical numbers, but I don’t recall any that were exclusively musical.

Ah, was that the episode? My mistake, then.

Here’s the last thread we did on this subject - Musical episodes of TV Shows - Cafe Society - Straight Dope Message Board I don’t know how many new episodes have been completed since then.

And this link has a bunch more - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MusicalEpisode

I guess those links pretty much make this thread moot but I was just coming to add Grey’s Anatomy. After all Sara Ramirez does have a Tony for best featured actress in a musical.

Sure there was.

My favorite Moonlighting musical sequence, however, was more strictly a dance scene, as they didn’t record any original music: Big Man on Mulberry Street. Directed by Stanley Donen!

I didn’t see it in either thread, so let me recommend the"Brigadoom" episode of the German-Canadian SciFi series LEXX.

Psych: The Muscial

I was also coming in to say this one - some damn fine singing going on there.

Forgot about that little ditty. With good reason.

I sit corrected.
