Musical episodes of TV Shows

Yep

I believe that might’ve been the first clip show (of ANY series) that I’ve thought “hey that didn’t absolutely suck” about. Simpsons has since had a few other clip shows I would fit into that category as well (the previous few Simpsons clip shows definitely DID NOT).

There is an upcoming episode of Psych: The Musical coming in December. I can’t wait.

Pretty sure The Love Boat did a musical episode once.

It deserves a link.

There’s an episode of Scrubs where Colin Hay of Men at Work keeps showing up singing “Overkill.”

I recall a Munsters episode with the Standells (of “Dirty Water” fame). They performed a few Beatles tunes.

Don’t forget Cop Rock, which was entirely musical episodes, for at least the short life of the show.

Xena did one, (The Bitter Suite?) were she and Gabrielle are forced to reconcile after Gabrielle’s daughter kills Xena’s son.

I think Lucy Lawless did her own singing but they dubbed in Renee O’Connor.

Xena had two musical episodes: “Once More With Feeling,” which resolved the Xena-Gabrielle Rift Arc, had all -original songs, and was the best episode of the series, and another, when Xena was pregnant, had all rock & roll covers, and while not as wonderful as the first nonetheless featured Renee O’Connor cage-dancing and thus was the best thing on television that week.

You are correct. Lawless, Kevin Smith, and Ted Raimi did their own singing; O’Connor and Hudson Leick did not.

The Drew Carey Show featured song and dance numbers occasionally.
