  16. Electric Bass

wow, even with 30 voters we managed to get 2 ties, in which case, I’m going to cast the deciding vote…I spent the last 35 minutes tallying it, so at least give me that right!

Aerophone bracket:

1. Trumpet - 23
vs 9. Oboe - 7

2. Clarinet - 18
vs 7. Bassoon - 12

  1. Trombone - 15
    vs 6. French Horn - 15

hmm…the instrument which I studied for 10 years, and which got me into Connecticut All State Orchestra, or the instrument you have to jack off to play? I cast the 16th vote for French Horn (which we all know is not actually French, but I didn’t want to write Orchestral Horn and have some voters thinking they were voting for a saxophone)

4. Saxophone - 18
vs 12. Harmonica - 11
Idiophones/Membranophone bracket:

1. Drumkit - 22
vs 8. Celesta - 8

  1. Tambourine - 5
    vs 10. Steel Drums - 24

3. Vibraphone - 17
vs 6. Tubular Bells - 13

4. Timpani - 24
vs 5. Marimba - 6
Chordophone bracket:

1. Steelstring Acoustic Guitar - 21
vs 8. Acoustic Double Bass - 9

2. Violin - 20
vs 10. Mandolin - 10

3. Cello - 19
vs 11. Dobro - 11

  1. Ukulele - 5
    vs 5. Banjo - 24
    Electronic/Mechanical bracket:

1. Acoustic Grand Piano - 23
vs 9. Pedal Steel Guitar - 7

2. Electric Guitar - 28
vs 7. Moog Synthesizer - 2

3. Pipe Organ - 19
vs 6. Electric Hammond B3 Organ - 11

  1. Harpsichord - 15
    vs 5. Electric Bass - 15

Another tie I need to cast the tieing vote for…if I turn my head to the right, there’s a harpsichord sitting right there. The only electric bass I ever owned, I smashed on stage during a concert after the fretboard broke. Going with Harpsichord.
