I’ve driven through the intersection of Pico and Sepulveda.
If album names count, I’ve done Double Nickels On The Dime (sometimes faster, many times much slower).
I’ve been meaning to get to San Jose, but keep getting lost. Do you know the way?
I’ve been away so long…
(I was born there, but we moved away when I was three months old, so I do not know the way.)
Same here, though not as often these days.

Oh, and I have traveled Ventura Highway, but I didn’t see any alligator lizards in the air. ![]()
Where’s your courage!? (I know, wrong album)
As per Mr. Springsteen, I have, indeed:
- Driven a Cadillac
- Driven to the Cadillac Ranch
- Driven through the “woods of Caroline”
- Driven alone through the Wisconsin night
Basically unknown compared to most of the songs here, but there’s a Lucy Wainwright Roche song called “Next Best Western” about an all night drive along I-80 out of Chicago and to points east across the states to meet someone special. As someone who has done that trek multiple times when my now-wife lived in Virginia, it’s had a good spot in my heart.
It’s the middle of night, near the Indiana line […]
The highway takes its toll, the green light flashes go; it’s Welcome to Ohio […]
It’s 4am on 80 East, it’s in the nature of the beast…
I’ve driven the Turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston many times.
I’ve driven through Gary, Indiana (Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana) a couple of times.
Just like Kraftwerk, ich bin gefahrn-fahrn-fahrn auf der Autobahn (I’ve driven on the Autobahn), ten thousands of kilometers actually…
10,000 easily here, but not tens of thousands. It’s simple driving…white stripes, green border.
One Sunday morning, about 40 years ago, I was bored, so I drove round
the M25. (Chris Rea’s Road To Hell)
Hey, Aussie Dopers, hasn’t anyone of you driven on the Highway To Hell?
I’ve had Texas in my rear view mirror. I’ve driven through Deadman’s Curve countless times. Come in from London over the pole. Surfed all the California beaches that don’t exist anymore. I still can’t drive 55, even on Route 66.
I know I have, but I’ll be damned if I know exactly where on Sunset it is from the song. West of Doheny? Not much of a curve.
I’ve been waiting my whole life for somebody to say they’re from Kalamazoo, so I can say I’ve got a gal there. But they never do.
I’ve stood on a corner in Winslow Arizona.
And, whenever possible I grab my coat, get my hat, leave my troubles on the doorstep, and just direct my feet to the sunny side of the street!
