Musical valium recommendations, please- pre-1981 if possible

But any will be appreciated. In certain states of mind, I really enjoy ultra ultra mellow songs like Ian Matthews “Woodstock”- aural valium like nothing else, but in a good way- “May I” by Kevin Ayers, and the entire Mark-Almond catalog, but can’t think of many others. Any recommedations of similarly mellow tunes would be appreciated.

shame-filled one time bump- anyone?

Elton John’s entire Tumbleweed Connection album. “Where to Now, St. Peter?”, “Come Down in Time”, and “Love Song” with Leslie Duncan are all especially mellow and beautiful.

Gordon Lightfoot

Loreena McKennitt

The Windham Hill 1981 Sampler. A favorite of mine.

Almost anything by the Carpenters as well. One definition of mellow would be “Karen’s voice”.

Nick Drake works for me.
