Well, the first Coronavirus entry is Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson. Hanks was in Australia preparing to play Colonial Tom Parker in an Elvis film.
Tom & Rita are 63 and in good health. Hopefully they’ll recover and be ok.
Celebrities meet a lot of people. It’s a key part of their careers. But it may mean that they’ve been exposed to sick people.
This thread is intended to discuss celebrity cases of Coronavirus as it’s reported.
Not exactly a famous name, but Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has tested positive for the coronavirus. This is big, as the NBA has suspended the rest of their regular season.
I’m a little worried for Stephen King. He has a home near Sarasota where some of our state’s first outbreaks were, and he’s not the healthiest dude to begin with. He also seems like the kind of celebrity who would mingle with the public a bit.
Production on Riverdale has been shutdown. Someone came into contact with a Coronavirus patient. No word yet if it was crew or an actor that was exposed to the virus.
The entire CBS Broadcast Center in New York has been shut down for cleaning. And Stephen Colbert announced last night the The Late Show won’t have a live audience for an undetermined time.
Tom Hanks and Rita shared an update. They’re still upbeat and thankfully don’t appear too sick. They aren’t on respirators.
I’ve read they had the virus for several days before it was diagnosed. Rita had performed a couple concerts in Australia and been on a morning talk show. Tom had taken selfies with fans. They came into contact with quite a few people. https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/13/entertainment/tom-hanks-rita-wilson-coronavirus-update/index.html
