There is a movement afoot to rename this disease THD (Tom Hanks Disease).
If you can survive Turner and Hooch, you can survive anything.
Archduke Karl von Habsburg of Austria is the first royal to get it. Grandson of the last emperor.
First prize is a trip in an open motorcar thru Sarajevo.
Austria, hey? Maybe he’ll end up quarantined with Tom and Rita. ![]()
True for any disease, but even more true for this one than most. Something like half of those infected experience no symptoms at all. But a few die. You can’t get a much wider range of variability than that.

Looks like the new forum is live. This thread probably fits better there than in CS.
New York Times has a list:
“Imagine no pinhead leaders, real or aspiring.” They left out that line.
Can I mention an NPR radio personality?
Just last Sunday I listened to that day’s episode of This American Life; the theme was appropriately low-grade dread. At the end of the show, host Ira Glass announced that he had the virus.

Andy Cohen has Coronavirus.
One of my favorite actresses Debi Mazar has it, along with her family.
Took quite a while to get a confirmation test due to a lot of run around. (The family having it is a presumption since they are around her and sick. Not tested yet, if ever.) Sounds very sick. ![]()
Some areas are telling doctors not to do tests due to shortages unless it will alter the treatment methods used. The number of undiagnosed people around simply due to unavailability of testing must be shocking.
Not so. I listen yesterday and he explained that he had self-quarantined because he had come into contact with someone who has it.
He don’t got it. (yet!)
Plácido Domingo has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Domingo is 79. This could easily be fatal for a man his age. He’s reporting mild symptoms so far.
I remember Domingo from the famous 3 Tenors concerts. José Carreras is still alive. Luciano Pavarotti died a few years ago.
José Carreras is on a farewell tour. He recently cancelled appearances because of Coronavirus.
He’s 73 and not ill. I hope he’s taking precautions.

Harvey Weinstein has the virus. I wonder if the care he will receive, if he needs it, will look a lot different than it would have not too long ago.
Weinstein is already in very precarious health. I doubt he’ll survive the Coronavirus.
Wanna bet? I’ll put up $200 saying the rapist survives, even money. Survival defined as cause of death (everyone dies sometime) something other than COVID-19/viral pneumonia.

I’m not that invested in Weinstein’s health. If he dies, he dies. I wouldn’t be upset if he lives to serve more prison time.
He recently had a Coronary procedure. He seems to be in declining health. But I’m not a doctor.
Considering the news of how he’s touched many people inappropriately, maybe not surprising.
Karma’s a real bitch, isn’t it?
With the number of well known people testing positive; I have to wonder about the percentage of the population in general. Frightening.
