Musicians that appeared in commercials

This fun little Petula Clark commercial for Plymouth got me thinking about commercials that feature musicians, not just their music. What appearances stick in your mind?

I’ve seen lots of them.

Two with Meat Loaf. One for AT&T

And one for A1

A few from Geico.

One with Peter Frampton

One with Charlie Daniels

And one with Eddie Money

An AT&T commercial with Edgar Winter.

I also remember a Pizza Hut commercial from the 90s with Ringo Starr and three of the Monkees - Davy Jones, Peter Tork, and Micky Dolenz.

The wife in that one is played by Tiffany, for a twofer.

Alice Cooper for Staples

And Marriott Hotels

Steven Tyler has done clothes, cameras and burgers.

Thanks. I forgot to mention her.

Iggy Pop in a… Cadillac ad?

The Monkees for Yardley Black Label cologne

If you consider them musicians, Rob and Fab (Milli Vanilli).

Willie Nelson for Taco Bell

Was he the passenger?

Eric Clapton for Michelob

I thought it was a much better version than his origanal version. The commercial got yanked because of Clapton’s alcoholism, though. I think he was in recovery then.

Honda scooter commercial featuring Devo.

Honda scooter commercial featuring Adam Ant and Grace Jones.

My favourite ad in the world:

A cinema ad for Europa (fuel supplier) from 1987 featuring kiwi musicians Murray Grindley and Midge Marsden, with Stevie Ray Vaughn

Also a related one without SRV, similar song, same sentiment

Miles Davis. (somebody who knows how to do this, add a link, please!)

“First, I’m gonna play. Then, I’m gonna tell ya about it. . . Maybe.”

Miles Davis

Lou Reed

Elvis Costello for his 1980 album Get Happy!
And although this stretches the OP a little, Lou Reed for his 1974 album Sally Can’t Dance.

Leon Redbone but I don’t remember what for.

Ella Fitzgerald for Memorex
