Musings on politics, "echo chambers," and truth...

I mentioned a while back the unexpected comfort reading blogs that agree with my general political direction is, making me understand why “echo chambers” are so appealing to some.

Well, I think that’s just about busted for me now.

Just read a couple of posts and their comments which are VERY down on the economy (as in double dip is inevitable, we’re all screwed, Palin’s getting in in '12), because Obama’s too much of a wimp to do what should be done (more stimulus, mainly), which is so clearly and obviously necessary to everyone and anyone with half a brain that it’s inconceivable that he didn’t do it when he had a chance. (This is the place that got me making this thread.)

So even the echo chambers can be “bad” experiences. Maybe the lesson here is “no politics anymore.” Maybe that’s just safer for my sanity.

Now to go build myself a bunker against the all-but-guaranteed destruction of the economy…

Ikonwwhatchamean. It’s incredibly frustrating to think that voters may soon return to power a party that is so small minded and whose policies have caused so much destruction. The GOP is masterful at screwing things up and blaming the other guys for the mess. I’ve been doing my part by talking with people, attending meetings, door knocking, and registering voters, but it feels like I’m just pissing in the wind. The misinformation is simply overwhelming.
