Mustard on Chocolate Chip Cookies

…is surprisingly good.

Just a touch though. Don’t overdo it.

Try it on a brownie!

Nooooooooooooope!

Y’all crazy!!

I am so relieved to see your post. For a moment I though I had waken up in the Twilight Zone where everybody likes mustard on chocolate chip cookies.

The Mustard is Due on Nabisco Treats?

I am willing right here and now to take the Never Mustard Except On Hot Dogs Pledge.

Geez, gang, what’s next? Threads titled “Soy Sauce on Lucky Charms”?

Here’s something I posted 12 years ago:

The entire thread is worth a read.

Love the Denny’s story. My discovery came from last night’s dinner which was a sausage sandwich with mustard, and a couple of Chips Ahoy for dessert. Little did I know I had some mustard smeared on the palm of my hand which brushed just slightly against the cookie. It was so good I tried a cookie with a dot of mustard applied on top. It was a revelation!

I’m trying it on a brownie next.

This reminds me of my dad’s favorite…cherry chip cake with a side of pepperoni. As kids, my sisters and I were always grossed out by this until we finally tried it. It’s very good. It’s just the sweet followed by the salty/savory thing. I never have cherry cake anymore, but once in a while after I’ve eaten a cookie or piece of chocolate, I’ll have a slice or two of pepperoni in memory of my dad. :slightly_smiling_face:

I grew up eating peanut butter & mustard crackers as a snack, turned onto them by my great-uncle. Still eat them to this day - a great interplay of salty/sweet/acidic.

Peanut butter and dill pickles, classic “kids” food I was taught by my dad. Probably as a joke, but I loved them.
Another, cheddar cheese and grape jelly.
