It’s not only Chris Matthews (though he’s the worst offender), but the two front-runners for the Pubbie nom often comically get their names mixed up by news commentators, newsreaders, analysts, and one level it’s obvious why: they share oddball monosyllabic first names, beginning with the similar-sounding “M” and “N” and ending with a “T,” and (less striking) they share somewhat unusual trochaic last names. So I propose just calling them both “Mute Zombie” and letting context determine which one is being discussed.
I like the image of some scary, silent dead entity lurching forward towards the nomination.
