Cotton, long-sleeved. No embroidery. Cuffs can be that funky tuxedo style that is in right now. Must have a collar.
Can I fucking find one? No!
I went to T.J. Maxx, Marshall’s, The Gap, Banana Republic and Marshall Field’s during my lunch break.
Mother fucking halter tops! Piece of shit tunics! Bitch-ass sweaters! Asswiping 3/4 length sleeves! Butt-munching linen! Fucktarded short sleeves! Smegapated cap sleeves!
I actually have some money to update my wardrobe for Spring/Summer and I’ll be got-diggety-dang-durned if I can find one fucking piece of clothing to buy.
You’re looking for Summer clothes? In APRIL? It’s almost May; those clothes got marked down and shipped out in February, back when you were looking for warm clothes because it was cold outside, and not finding any because everyone had their summer clothes out.
I don’t know how discriminating you are about labels, but have you tried a store like K-mart or Meijers? I’m not a huge fan of their “trendy” lines, but they’re usually good for the basics. Barring that, could you make do with a mens style, and just upsize a little to allow for booby room? I’d guess that upwards of 40% of my wardrobe comes from the men’s section. Simpler sizing, a minimum of frufru, and usually more durable to boot.
Heh. Right when you said plain white shirt I knew you were coming in contact with the plethora of 3/4 sleeves that are out there.
I believe we must be in a fabric shortage. Because all you can seem to find plenty of are 3/4 sleeved shirts and various incarnations of capris/short/cropped pants.
I want full-length limbs, too, too, but alas, I’m 5’1".
Personally, I think that 3/4 sleeves and cropped pants are the greatest thing since sliced bread. 3/4-length for a 5’8" person is just about right for us shorties.
Men’s dept. is a great idea in principle, but for us bustier folks, if we buy men’s clothes that fit over the boobs, we have a tentlike structure around the rest of the torso from all the extra fabric. Not at all flattering. Makes me look like a baby hippo. That’s why stretch fabrics are the second-greatest thing since sliced bread.
Lands end has an ever-expanding line of larger sizes. I made the mistake of buying a 3X sweater for my SIL over christmas. I am now cursed by the catalogs-full-of-clothes-not-for-you fairy. I only need to buy one sweater a year for her!
However, Sears doesn’t have a very large selection of Land’s End merchandise, or at least not as large as the catalog/website selection. In the store I work in, we mostly have the most popular stuff, like the sweaters and shirts and such. So, yeah.
Have you tried somewhere that sells uniforms and such? They might have something.
