My ass hurts

So do my legs… hell all my lower body hurts. I went for my first “good” bicycle ride in about 4 years.

Went for about an hour.

Got caught in the rain.

I think I am going to make it a regular activity now.

Just thought I’d share. Have a nice day.

Oh, you mean the good kind of ass hurtin’, that turns into a tight, firm butt.

Yes, you need to keep it up, there aren’t enough tight, firm butts in the world.

My ass hurts too, but just when he steps on my foot.

I bet you got two reall sore areas where the ass bone meets the seat too, huh? It always takes me a week or two to get used to that. Gotta love spring.

Via the magic of creative editing and you take a glimpse into my mind as I clicked on the “my ass hurts” link.

Yeah, gotta keep that little tight-ass in shape you know…

In addition, I’ve gained 4 inches around my waist the past 2 years, so thats helping with the initiative as well.

Actually, I can’t remember the last time I road my bike. I used it quite a bit when I lived in Vancouver, but after I bought my motorcycle there it languished on my balcony for some time. The more thought I give it, 4 years is pretty conservative… I’d guess 1995 or so would be the last time I got good usage out of it. Thats the last time I used my bike for 1/2 hour long rides to the gym, work out, ride back. Crap, I seriously think I would die if I were to try that now.

Oh well, give me until the end of summer… bernse will be a hot, in shape stud once again!

[sub]I mean, even more so![/sub]

PS - Better watch that, Meatros, I’ll sue ya for pullin’ those stunts!

Bernse, if you did the ride today, and your ass is already sore…look out for tomorrow, or the next time you sit on that seat. Ouch!

Good job though, keep it up!

In part inspired by this thread, I went for a nice long ride. It turned out to be a bit longer than I was planning–about 2 hours. But it felt great.

I wore padded shorts.

Great idea!

I like those gel seat cushions for bikes. Prevents ass hurt.

Thats the scary part, I already have a gel seat. I guess my ass has just been spoiled the past 5-6 years.

My ass does not like to get pounded.

When I ride my bike, my ass rarely hurts. Somehow, most of my weight ends up resting on…I’m not sure what to call it. The base of my willie, I guess. And it doesn’t hurt, it just goes numb. For days at a time, after my last 200 mile ride.

Hmm, maybe I should get a different saddle. Nah, not worth it, considering how little I ride these days. But maybe I’ll ride this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration, bernse.

I’ve got a cut-away saddle and between that and the padded shorts, I’m more likely to complain of sore legs* than ass by the end of a ride.

[sub]*: actually, its been the meaty webbing between my thumbs and forfingers that gets sore, lately. Too much pressure on my hands.[/sub]

The only biking I do is at the Y on a stationary recumbent bike in front of the TV. And my butt still gets sore, in spite of the nice wide seats. But I pedal my 20 minutes at least 4 times a week, and I’m up to level 8 (of 15, I think) and I’m already feeling healthier!

Anyone who’s familiar with this area knows that biking outside is suicide - even where there are bike lanes. I’ll pedal my ass in the safety of air conditioning…

Along time ago, 1985, I was a riding fool. A nice ATB. To and from work. Work was physical too. Went from 235 to 195. Had that tight ass thing going for me also. Rethinking my life this is a good place to start.

Clean bike.Find log book. Spin away the weight. Cardio and weight training. May even think about my diet.

I think I’m having a mid-life crisis. Well if it is mid life, I will live to be 90

I have an old college buddy who is currently on a BIG bike ride. I think (but am not sure, since I kind of tune out when others discuss vacation plans) that he flew from Atlanta to somewhere like Seattle or Portland, and is riding across the country back to Atlanta. Anyhoo, he’s posting updates (somehow) to his Web site as he goes:

Hope he won’t be mad at me for posting this link, but I’m pretty sure he won’t.

You know what I love about this thread? Until this morning, it was below the “I don’t get the thong, panty-line thing” thread.

Couldn’t go out for the past couple nights as we’ve had company. But, the upside is my ass no longer hurts. I’ll be giving it a try tonight. Hopefully it won’t be as bad, but I am prepared for the worst.
