My baby girl is six months old. How is that possible!?

It seems like just yesterday that I was posting asking for advice about what to do when she was born and now she is already sitting up on her own and eating grownup food. How did this happen!?

Look how big she is!

Please tell me that this slows down…

ISTM there was another thread just like this, very recently.

One salient response there, and here, is that you should go to YouTube and look up the number “Sunrise Sunset” from Fiddler On The Roof.

Or take a look at thisKodak commercial from the 60s. Except if you’re young enough to have a 6 month old it looks really old and corny. But I just turned around. Once I was young, and now I’m old. It’s unbelievable, when I saw that commercial when I was a kid, I thought that looked like a really cool camera.

Treasure these moments. I’m not saying you shouldn’t treasure the rest of the moments, but these are really special moments. Anyway I gotta go. Something got in my eye.

Passage of Time? Just a guess…

Nope. Sorry. Nothing but one change after another after another. But the upside is that she’ll continue to amaze you every single day

Well, they eventually stop growing up; most girls do it within their teen years. That doesn’t mean you stop having “but how can she already be…” moments.

It seems like 6 months ago my 6yo was two so my vote is that it just gets faster.

She’s beautiful! You’ve clearly invested these first six months wisely

My baby turned 11 months old on Tuesday, my oldest will be 4 on Sunday. It just keeps going so fast. She started kindergarten in February and next week is the end of Term 1! I can see this year will be over before we know it.

Did you ask her if you could post her pic online… otherwise you might get in some trouble vis-a-vis privacy issues around here.

I believe it is the revolution of the Earth around the Sun that is to blame.

Let’s see… You gave birth six months ago, so let me do the math. Yeah, it checks out.

Aww, she’s adorable! This is really a stealth-bragging thread, so you could post the picture of how freaking cute your kid is, isn’t it?

My “baby” is 20 months old now.

She said mamamama (translation: Anything for you my wonderful mother)

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to slow down when things are going well, the only time it will feel like she’s aging slowly is when she’s going through what you know is only a temporary stage but one that makes you want to lock her up for her own safety. THOSE take forever

My baby is turning 22 in a couple of months and while it wasn’t slow it sure has been a wonderful trip the entire time with both her and her brother. Even the times I wanted to lock them up for their own safety (from me) are good now for embarrasing stories

Arg. Not what I wanted the hear…, but what I was afraid of.

Wow, that is exactly it. I cried when I watched that.

She said it was alright as long as I posted the one of her in her niners jersey.

I am not sure is this counts a some hope, but I guess I will take what I can get…

Aw thanks. I personally think she is the most adorable child on the planet, but I think I might be biased.
