Today is my birthday. By a funny coincidence, I chose years ago June 12th as a Personal Holiday, and June 12th always happens to land on my birthday.
It’s been fairly dull. I went to the doctor to renew my Airman’s Medical Certificate. It went well. They took the limitation that required me to wear glasses while flying off. I chatted with the doctor, a former USAF Major, for a little bit. I think he was happy to have someone in his office who wasn’t sick. I used to work at Edwards AFB, and like he has, I’ve done a little traveling in Europe. But he did most of the talking.
I went down to the camera house to get a battery for my Arriflex 16S. I’m having the power cord changed so that it will fit the more-modern receptacle on the battery. I’ll pick it up in a few hours.
So I’m certified healthy? Great! I went and got a Big Mac.
My friend in Hoquiam, WA sent me a plant for on Saturday. She’s a sweetie I went to high school with, and she became a Blackhawk pilot in Desert Storm. I think she was the first female into Iraq, as the 101st Airborne helicopters were the first there and she was flying one of them. Anyway, no one has ever sent me something from a flower shop before. That was neat. The plant is a “pathos”(?) Something like that. Sounds like “pot roast” anyway.
I thought about getting a haircut, but I’m too lazy. I drove the Willys to the camera house. It’s fun to drive that thing around.
Mom, sis, BIL, and two-year-old (in two weeks) nephew took me out for a steak lunch yesterday. My co-workers will take me out on Friday (payday). Two of us in the office have June birthdays so there will be cake this week, I think.
I have a 7" Churchill. An Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva. I may decide to smoke it today. Heck, I’ve had it since January. I hope it’s still good.
I looked at a Flash thing for the film I worked on. http://www.reelprogress.com/nixie/nixietest1.html It wouldn’t work on Communicator, but I was able to see it on Explorer.
And that’s my birthday. Mundane and pointless enough for this forum?
