I don’t know you that well, but I was reading the Doper Birthday thread, and saw that today was your birthday, and didn’t want it to go by without saying Happy Birthday!!!
Come to think of it, I don’t know you at all, but you seem like a great guy. You’re always nice, and post interesting things, I can always count on you knowing a lot about motorcycles and Mexican food.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Doh! I just had a can of tuna and some Ritz crackers! What was I Thinking?
flyboy88: Now if only someone would get me a helicopter for my birthday, I’d be stytlin’! (Heck, I can buy the heli myself… I’d just need someone to handle the insurance! )
Johnny, I hope you have an awesome birthday! I don’t know you, and haven’t met you, but you do indeed seem like a nice person, and post about interesting things.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHNNY L.A.!!!
Now for the Chinese version…
“Guung juuk nay fook sow yuen teen tsai, hing hong nay sun sun fie lok. Leen leen doe yao gum yut, suuy doe yao gum jzew, guung hay nay! Guung hay nay!!!”
Here’s what I think it means: Congratulations to you on this very special day! Every year, we celebrate this day, and best of luck to you!
(man, I really ought to ask my friend for a more accurate translation…)
You’re absolutely right, scout122. I’ll use it in a minute…
Flamsterette_X: How are things in Richmond? I talked to my best fiend, who lives in Birch Bay, WA, and he said it was 80°F up that way!
And now…
I decided I wanted a birthday cake, so I went to the market for a cupcake. Wait a minute! It’s my birthday! I bought some yellow cake mix and some chocolate frosting. I also had to buy a dozen eggs. (I only needed one, since I still have two eggs left from the half-dozen I bought a couple of weeks ago.)
I got out the mixer my mom gave me a while back and used it for the first time to mix up the cake mix in a large pot. Now all I need to do is get out that rectangular glass baking dish and…
:smack:
I packed it away over a year ago for my long-anticipated but still unforeseeable move to WA!
:smack: :smack:
I have a frying pan that’s 9" in diameter, and it has straight sides. The box says I can make two 9" round cakes. That’ll work. I’ve put half of the batter into the pan, and it’s in the oven even as we speak. When it’s done I’ll rince it out and make the other half.
Phase One is complete. The first layer has emerged from the frying-pan-cum-cake-pan. It stuck to the bottom a little, but I put the pieces in place and I can spackle it all together with frosting.
Edward The Head: Good idea. But I think I’ll wait 'til the morning and ride the Yamaha into work.
Johnny, your friend was right, and the temperature’s supposed to get up even higher tomorrow! (to about 90°F or more, in fact) Now that is summer weather!
