Happy Birthday, Johnny L.A.!!

Go, man, go! Happy Birthday Johnny!

Happy Bday! The best I can do towards getting you a helicopter is a spare copy of Microprose’s Gunship 2000 I happen to have. If you’re interested, let me know where to send it – it’s just takin up space here.

Happy Happy Birthday Johnny L.A. darling!

Birthday kisses, and all that…and don’t think you are going to escape your birthday dance! I may even insist on two…if you’ll agree to try a tango, I may reward you with one of those slow “cheek to cheek” ones. [sub]not THOSE cheeks, the ones on your FACE. Sheesh.[/sub]

  • here’s hoping you had a most magnificent day - you most certainly deserve it.

We’ve been checking our budget, but it would appear that our accountant forgot to factor in a sum for “Aircraft insurance for deserving friends” - he’ll receive a strong letter.

So, how’s about meeting up sometime over the weekend and perhaps organize a cake with a slightly more vertical aspect to it ?

Happy Birthday! - Tillykke!

One L.A. that’s not so bad! Best wishes!

Well, gee, I’m glad I saw this before the day was over!

Happy, happy, happy birthday, Johnny L.A. I hope your day was wonderful, and a big congrats on hitting 29. Again.

Thanks for the wishes, everyone!

Yesterday was rather a calm day. I was going to go to the Aquarium, but it was like 80° outside. (I like it cold.) Besides, admission was about twenty bucks, and I’ve heard it’s not quite worth the price.

So I stayed at home, made my cake, watched a DVD, posted here and over at SDMB, talked to my sister on the phone, and later I talked to my friend out on the Olympic Peninsula. (She said she’s sending me salmon for my birthday – smoked, and in smoked salmon dip. Ya just can’t get good smoked salmon in So. Cal.) After I went to bed, another friend called. She was sorry to wake me, but I said that’s okay. Her husband wanted to know how old I am. Borrowing from Clemens I said, “As old as my tongue and not quite as old as my teeth.”

I ended up eating two slices of cake yesterday. Mmmm. Yellow cake!

KKBattousai: Actually, I like the yellow cake more than the frosting. Fortunately, the cake tastes better than it looks.

yojimboguy: I think I have that game around here somewhere. And there’s a JetRanger on FS-2000. Gosh, it’s been a long time since I’ve had time to play computer games. I have a stack of vintage Guillow’s flying WWI models. I wish I could find my Red Baron game!

Scotticher: It’s a good thing you added that subscript. You know what the first thing that popped into my mind was!

Shayna and Spiny: Someone over at Fathom mentioned something about a “cooling rack”. It seems I misunderstood the directions. It actually did say to let the cake cool completely before putting on the frosting, but I thought it said to allow it to cool for 10 minutes. Ah, well. It doesn’t change the taste! I don’t know what’s going on this weekend, but we’ll see what happens. How’s married life?

Violet: I complain a lot about L.A. But except for the hot weather, the concrete and asphalt everywhere you look, the traffic, the hot weather, the crush of people, the lack of conifers, the lack of hiking trails, the hot weather, and some other things, it’s not so bad.

Heloise: What do you mean 29? I’ve been in stasis since I was 26! I asked someone to give me one compelling reason why I should grow up, and she couldn’t come up with one. So I won’t!

Flamsterette_X: My friend out in Hoquiam (the one who’s going to send me the yummy salmon) said it was 80° there. She said she’s melting. (But she said it will be back into the 60s soon.)

Thank you, everyone, for the birthday wishes! {{{hugs all around}}}

That should have been “posted here and over at Fathom”. :o
