My boycott against Ireland

Like these?

So that’s what Kildavnet Castle looks like in sunny weather.

if you’re in Dublin, try the Independant Pizza Company, Lower Drumcondra Road.
They’re that busy they don’t do deliveries, but you can order and then pick up. Or eat in. It’s nothing fancy, but the pizza is divine. Trust me.
I’ll take you there, if you want, and I promise if you don’t like it, the meal is on me.

Is that the one beside Quinn’s? haven’t eaten in there yet.

BTW, when you going to appear for a pint? We need new victi… ehh… new topics of conversation

Hello everyone, I’m just back from a weekend in the UK, having picked up the latest dossier on how to oppress the Irish, and have returned to put it into action.

I ate there last week. The pizzas are tota-fucking-lutely divine. According to what I heard, they’re owned by the same people who own Manhattan Pizza.

Their nachos suck, their guacamole stinks, and so does their Caesar salad. But the pizzas. Ooooh matron.

As Twisty says, it is time for a new face at the SDMB Dublin gatherings. I have been the new girl for long enough.

Why don’t we meet up and go to this IPC, for ruadh then we can wander into Quinns for a scoop or two?

Any takers?

I’m on.

I’ll be down in Dublin for the weekend of the FA Cup. (which is 16th-18th May, for those who don’t know).

If you make it then, I’ll be in attendance also. If I’m allowed…

sounds like a plan.

well, why wouldn’t you be. The more the merrier
And this would be my first ever SDMB meeting, if i can make it.

What’ll we do, decide on a date first?
Weekdays would suit me better than weekends, to be honest
(weekends are taking up by hobbies, ie skydiving and hiking, sorry guys!), but if the weather’s sh*te, I might be able to make it.

Oh, and Twistoffate, yup, it’s the one beside Quinn’s, but they moved, they’re now on the corner of St Anne’s street, a bit further down towards town, same road.
And literally 2 mins from my flat (handy, I tell you!)

Party’s in elfje’s, lads

hmm, wish i could invite ye all, but my place only consists out of 3 rooms, and all of em are too small to even swing a mouse in…
:frowning:

so, sorry!
but the first round’s on me

Because the rest of the guys have met me before.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Some pit thread this turned out to be! Feck, arse, drink, girls etc…

mmm, well, nobody’s met me before, so inviting me might be the wrong thing to do (better the devil you know than the devil you don’t, right?). I mean who wants to meet a mad belgian with a mad irish accent?

that is an ecumenical matter yes! yes!

I’m on - IPC isn’t too far from me and I’m a fan. Why not tie this thread up very neatly and go to Fagan’s afterwards?

A useless titbit - they used to be where Gotham City is now on South Anne Street.

So Carrick-on-Suir is heaven? You need to get out more.

BTW, this thread is the Irish experience in microcosm. It starts on some random topic, moves on to a row about the north and everyone ends up going for a pint.

we could throw in a quick picket on Bertie’s Constituency office while we’re at it!!
How’s that to bring the thread back on topic?

Of course I meant “Gotham” when I wrote “Manhattan”.

:smack:

Twat.

yup, I prefer Fagan’s over Quinn’s, anyway.
Guinness is nicer

So, when and who and do we need to book?

when: depends on Aro and his FA match?
who: depends on the date but I’d love to come, jjim’s ina and so is Curly chick and Twistoffate?

booking: well, I pass it every day on the way from work, So i can pop in. Just need to know how many there’ll be in the party.

Hey!!!
I reckon compared to the attractiveness of the tracksuit-clad hordes from Ballymun and Tallaght we stack up quite nicely…
:stuck_out_tongue:

Funnily enough, being called a BIFFO never feels like an insult to me. I even came up with a tune about it to sing at GAA matches. It totally confuses the opposition in the pubs, as it takes away their greatest slagging weapon if we are singing it about ourselves…

Sorry for the delayed reaction, I’ve been away… Carry on.

it always amuses me the way Offaly people do not bother to say the “t” in Saturday.

Sahurday!

honestly: there’s one good thing in Offaly (apart from the Low Alpine Factory Outlet in Tull) and that’s a parachute club

Incidentally called the IPC, too.
