Good news. He “had another brain scan today and the Docs are pleased with his progress.”
My nephew (his son) says “He is not talking much and is sleeping a lot” which if you knew my brother is shocking.

Sweet!
I feel obliged to point out that there is a genetic component to some aneurysms. You and your family should look into getting screened, especially in view of the story about your father.
I hope your brother does well.
Prayers for him, hugs for you!
Terrible news, but so glad to read the positive update. Wishing you and your family the best in the coming weeks.
I’m glad to hear the good news, continued good wishes.
Sorry to hear of this development, glad there are good signs now trickling out!
You’re in my thoughts, wishing you strength and sending you healing wishes!
Happy to hear that. May it continue.
Yep, sending positive vibes your way and crossing fingers.
Lots of good thoughts coming your and your brother’s way. Please keep us posted. And I have to admit, this:
really made me tear up. I feel the same way about my brother.
Best Wishes for a speedy recovery given a bad situation, JSgoddess.
[busybodymode] Spend time with him, talk to him. Remind him of good times, times that he made you proud & tell him how much you love him.
I lost my Dad to a catastrophic second stroke not 1 minute after I got to his hospital room. I had just barely said “Dad I’m here…” when a nattering relative over-talked me about her daughter’s HS dating problems until the stoke hit.
I never got to tell him I loved him or say how proud I was of him. Your brother may be fine & will likely recover fully, so what would it really hurt to tell him how much you love him now? [/busybodymode]
I am so sorry to hear of your brother’s illness, I hope he has a fast and permanent healing.
I hope everything works out, jsgoddess. I’m so sorry about your brother.
Also hoping for the best for your brother, jsgoddess. The updates you’ve posted sound very encouraging.
There is a book called* My Stroke of Insight* which, even though written by a brain scientist, is a tad woo for my taste, but useful for her description of her own hemorrhagic stroke and for the list she includes of 40 things a Stroke Survivor May Need in the days immediately following.
You and your brother are both in my thoughts.
I’m sorry to hear this about your brother. I hope he continues to have good days and that you do as well.
Good news, from my mother:
"he seemed to be his old self…trying to be in charge.
Don’t know yet when he will be out of the hospital.
The aneurysm was a small vein rupture and is somewhat pinpointed in area.
As I understand it, not life or mobility threatening.
He will be restricted on the hours worked, etc., for a time."
Thank you to everyone for your support. It looks like things are really looking up.
Great news!
Wonderful!
I’m glad to hear it.
This is the best possible outcome! Congratulations!
