My brother: moving up the corporate ladder at Disney & maybe moving to California

Servant’s older brother is Vice President in Charge of Entertainment for Walt Disney World. Which means that he is in charge of overseeing all of the various shows etc that go on. He’s been working at Disney in Orlando in 1989.

He started out working in the Japanese exhibit in Epcot Center, running the light board for the show they put on.

Since then he has risen up through the ranks, doing a number of jobs including being stage manager for the Barbie show at Epcot Center, and going over to France and helping to open up Euro Disney, as well as being head of entertainment for disney Cruise lines.

He’s on a first name basis with Michael Eisner, not to mention Mickey, Minnie and Donald;)

Now it turns out that my brother is going out to California to interview for a job as Vice President in Charge of Entertainment for DisneyLand. It’s a bit of a move up from his current job and it carries more perks and more power, plus he would seem to have a better chance of advancement at DisneyLand then at DisneyWorld.

The downside is that he would have to deal with much more of the corporate stuff, but he would be closer to Michael.

He should find out in a few days, so I’ll let you know.

I wish your brother well on his career advancement.

Does he need a personal assistant? Does he need a guy to wear the mouse suit? I’m availible.

Hit him up for those Club 33 privileges.

Few people realize this but Micky, Minnie, all of them work in the office area as well as walk around the park to meet and greet guests.

And let me tell you, it is no picnic working with them.
Ok You got the princes. Chaming, Aladin, Philip. Lets face it. These guys are not team players and although they always have help from they never share credit on a project.

Snow White and Cinderella, well the whole ‘cleaning’ thing with them is by far a more obesseive/compluisive disorder than the public knows. They will walk right into your office and ‘tidy up the place’ while you are on the phone! Believe me, being called ‘Mr. Messy Desk’ by Snow White behind your back is not pleasant. If you think that is bad try getting on an elevator with five ‘princesses’ in their gigantic skirts. You think you office apperal code is too high try working with women who wear tiaras to work.

Of course there is the breaking out in song thing as to deal with as well. Its fine to break out into song when you fall in love or your heart is broken. However the songs ‘The Network is Down’, ‘Who ate the Last Donut’, ‘We have a meeting at 4:30 on Friday’ and ‘Where do You Want to Go for Lunch’ are never going to be on a ‘Sing-a-long with Belle’ CD.

Then there are the ‘other’ characters. HR now has us calling them the human-challenged persons. But Minnie can not type anything because her fingers are too big. You can’t understand a thing Donald says and when you can’t understand him he blows his stack. And I’m willing to bet that your office does not have a sign by the fax machine that reads For God’s Sake, Do not let GOOFY change the Toner!
