Soulmurk, speaking for my brother and my sister-in-law

You made some oh-so-charming remarks about Disney employees in this thread, including “good people get worn out and slime gets promoted” and "paying poor wages to the slobs that take the full brunt of the publics anger and overpaying middle managers with the intelligence of tree sap to micro-manage from 300 miles away.

My brother started out working for Disney running the light show for the outdoor show at the Japanese pavillion in Epcot. It wasn’t much, in fact there are more complicated lighting setups/boards at most high schools. But he enjoyed it and he worked hard. And he started to move up.

He was the stage manager for the Barbie Extravaganza show at the American Pavillion in Epcot.

He went over to France for 18 months to help with the building/opening of Euro Disney.

He went over to Italy for 6 months to help with the launch of the Disney Magic Cruise Ship and he was in charge of the the entertainment on the ship.

He currently is in charge of Entertainment for Walt Disney World. That means he oversees all of the various shows/parades etc at the Magic Kingdom/Epcot Center/Disney/MGM Studios/Animal Kingdom.

He recently interviewed for a position with Disney out on the West Coast.

His wife, and my sister-in-law started out working for Disney as a dancer. She also worked as several of the characters. She also worked hard and enjoyed her job and she too began to move up.

She worked as the handler for Mickey Mouse/Minnie Mouse/Donald Duck whenever Mickey/Minnie/Donald would go on tour/do personal appearences around the country.

She has also been the liason who arranges the details for when celebrities (Princess Diana, Elton John) visit Disney as well as musical/comedy acts who are going to perform at Disney (Diane Schur, Michael Feinstein.

They are not slime. They are not middle managers with the intelligence of tree sap.

They are great people. They have 4 wonderful children.

They didn’t step on other people on their way up the company ladder.

Ok, that’s not entirely true. You have to step on people on your way up the ladder, but that doesn’t mean that you are hurting them, it’s just that you may have more talent/drive etc.

On the other hand you, Soulmurk are slime.

You are classless gutter trash.

Scum.

What the hell is up with all these work pit threads?

I better see a smoking/suv/bush sucks thread soon, this is getting strange.

It’s quite clear that Soulmurk is a Disneyist. Next he’ll be saying that Disney employees should have their own schools, drinking fountains and entrances.

Soulmurk, if you’re reading this I hope you rethink your ways and realize that Disney employees are no different from you and me except they are employed by Satan.

Anecdote Fight!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, my first pitting and it’s over something as asinine as this?

BogieBlanca, if you’d take your head out of your ass long enough to read the thread you so kindly linked to you’d realize that I too was a Disney employee and base my statements on my experiences with them as a company.

Somehow you’ve taken my statements that, “good people get worn out and slime gets promoted,” and “paying poor wages to the slobs that take the full brunt of the publics anger and overpaying middle managers with the intelligence of tree sap to micro-manage from 300 miles away” as an attack against all employees of Disney? Your logic is boggling.

How exactly does that get interpreted as Disney employee = slime? Oh, I see, I must have meant that anyone that ever gets promoted is slime and has the intelligence of tree sap. Are you really that blinded by rage because I dare say something negative about Disney?

By way of explanation, since you seem to get too angry to actually read my whole post, I gave all the reasons I know of that I believe Disney an evil corporation, many of which you conveniently overlook in your defense of the company. I was one of slobs that took the brunt of the public’s anger and I watched firsthand as competency went unrewarded and idiocy went unchecked.

I took calls and e-mails from hundreds of people every day with nothing but terrible stories about how Disney was ripping them off through one of another of their subsidiaries, and I got to see from the inside how they implemented very nearly illegal business practices. I also got to hear Michael Eisner’s ignorant spoutings and then had the extreme honor of defending his moronic statements to the public via a standard apology e-mail.

If you’ll notice, the post directly under mine in that thread is about how poorly guests and employees of Disney’s cruise lines are treated. Several other posters also suggested that Disney should go bankrupt, though without giving specific reasons, and another pointed to their churning out pathetic sequels to movies and an apparent lack of proper maintenance at Disneyland, and yet you seem to overlook these posts. Were they just lower on the list when you did your “I wanna get pissed off” search for Disney, or did my inflammatory statements raise your ire so much that any further reading was so impossible that you had to take me to the Pit to lambast me because a couple of members of your family happen to work for Disney?

If you want to hold the halo over the company, that’s just fine. They still make a killing through ignoramuses like you believing that the name Disney is synonymous with goodness, but until you’ve seen firsthand how they deliberately screw people out of their money and treat their support staff and customers alike, why don’t you go visit your brother and SIL to partake in the food they buy with money stolen from Grandma Public who thought she was buying little Jimmy a shitty sequel they pander to kids and ended up paying $50 for something she didn’t even know existed.

The OP was pretty boring, but I like how you bold random words throughout. It made me feel like I was reading a comic strip.

Man, my first pitting and the OP’er doesn’t even return to fight back.

Weak.

Guess I’ll have to try harder to piss people off.

AHA! I KNEW Disney was evil. My family mocks me for refusing to buy any Disney crap for my nieces, but there is some shit I will not eat.
